DVD Review: What is Meditation? Being Awake Now!

We are very fortunate to live in a age where there are a few very gifted spiritual teachers who can clearly point to this truth of being without feeding the mind with more beliefs, concepts and shoulds.
In this very funny and enjoyable DVD, one of these teachers, Eckhart Tolle, clearly points out that true meditation is not an altered state of consciousness nor a formal practice we do, but rather being awake and present in the world as it is. Tolle has a profound understanding of human nature and is quite funny acting out how the mind resists and reacts to what it perceives as its enemy, this present moment. His pointers are simple and clear. Everything that is needed to awaken to the truth is in this DVD. Abiding as this truth is true meditation. This DVD is short, funny, and to the point. I highly recommend it. Your mind may not like it, but you will! :o)

I thought this was going to be a DVD on how to meditate. It is not. It is a wonderful talk given by Eckhart Tolle summarizing many of the ideas he writes about in his books The Power of Now, and A New Earth. The single camera didn't bother me at all. The talk was humorous, inspiring, and enlightening. If you liked Eckhart's books, or his online conversations with Oprah, you'll absolutely LOVE this! DVD Review: Profound & Funny

Forget 'production values' 'low-sound-qualities'(huh?sounded fine on my box)
drop all the minds' nitpicking trivia and go for the goods,friends!
oh! and those of you (i was one) who have it quite together on the mental level
on this 'subject' and are tempted (like i was) to wonder at the title 'do i need this?'

I love Tolle and was looking forward to this but am very disappointed in the sound quality.
This should never have been put on the market. A waste of money.
I recommend very highly Tolle's 2 disc DVD "The Flowering of Human Consciousness" if you can find a version playable on American DVD players. That one is definitely 5 Star in every way!
