DVD Review: OK movie and Winona was good

This movie was good I guess. The movie starts out stupid: the people in the town are idiots and losers and want to see this famous movie star come back who once lived in the town and they all rejoice of course. This guy Jelf Daniels can'ts wait her return as well since he's an unhappy man married with a woman who he can barely stand with three brats. This little girl Dinky wants her mother, who she thinks is Roxy Charmatical. She's an dorky and weird teen who thinks her parents are Jelf and Roxy. She is very bright however and funny and nice once you get to know her, and her teachers and classmates see this of course since she draws them into her life. Roxy doesn't return though at the end and Dinky sees that she really isn't her mother even though she ovuously hoped that it was. She is disappointed and sad, but her cute classmate helps her realize that she didn't really need Roxy as her mother and that she shines in her own light and is a bright and beautiful light to this world. Dinky agrees with this of course, and starts to fall for him and they share ice cream together at the end. I liked the subplot about a average guy in the movie having an affair with this woman who is a famous actress and Winona nails the role of Dinky, and is brilliant and amazing to watch. She is perfect for the character and she plays her well. The town is weird though-her worthless parents and the negative run-of-the mill people who aside in the town and Jeff's family who is a couple of brats and some housewife who leaves him and her school is a harsh sesspool and her teachers can't see the brilliant young woman inside. It's sad and kind of strange. I think Dinky is a wonderful fictional character, and she is very deep and her change from outcast to someone who is loved and appreciated is very touching. I think this movie was really, really bad but also it was funny and it had good moments.
