DVD Review: 4.5 stars, In many ways this should of been the best.
Summary: 4 Stars
Wrestlemania was one of the most highly anticipated Manias of them all, after the huge dissapointmant after the last 2 (22 and 21) I was expecting a hellaicious event which ofcource we did!
However it was flawed by many useless and time wasting segments which could of gone to the action. E.g when every one was dancing was just a waste and not in the slightest entertaining. That segmant could of gone to the Taker V Batista match, but any way on with the review.
1. Money In The Bank Ladder Match:
With out doubt a classic ladder match. Each superstar gave it there all, it went over the 20 minute mark which was exciting as WWE usualy make these a lot shorter due to the sheer danger of them and the ease of botching high risk moves. Jeff Hardy was with out doubt the high light real but it was as high risk as I thought it would be because WWE instructed to tone down high risk moves. Ends with Kennedy winning the match, would of liked Matt Hardy, he is such a great wrestler and has not been given enough by WWE, he should be world champ by 2008 or so. (9/10)
2.Great Kahli vs Kane
With out doubt the second worst match of the night. Kahli simply cant wrestle to save his life (watch him on youtube agains giant silva enough said), this was really disrespectfull to Kane he easily has a legend status and deserves more, he should at least get a good title run, but owe no WWE want some idiot like Cena the champ who executes like 5 moves in a match then its over, kane ended ap getting a double chock bomb by Kahli. Kane should of got a better match in the show. A slow and boring match, the only highlight was the bodyslam kane gave. (3/10)
3. Chris Benoit vs MVP (US title)
Suprisingly a vey good match. It definately changed my mind about MVP he really took Benoit to a diffrent level and showed a lot of athletic proffesional wrestling, before he was just dominated by other superstars. I think he could have a good future ahead of him, only criticism it was a bit short but fantastic wrestling, Chris is a bit wasted by WWE and I think they waste a lot of the tallent they have, before the good, respected superstars were given oppertunity, know its given to jokes like Cena (8/10)
4. World Title Match Undertaker Vs Batista
Two words describe this match 1. AMAZING! and 2 DISRESPECTFUL, how WWE could allow this not to be the main event is beyond me, they left it all in the ring, it was tence action that had you on the edge of your seat, why they have some crappy diva match or segmants rather than the non stop action and passion Wrestlemania is about they put this in the mid-card! (No disrespect to the legend HBK is but his match should be replaced here), If they were given longer Taker would of made Batista a legend in the future. Taker gives us a real treat with his suicide dive, forget cena v HBK this is the main event, this match proved that Batista is a wrestler not a complete dominator like other large, toned superstars. Taker puts Batista away with the Tombstone! 15-0. Just to short, it makes me sick how short McMachon could make this match, these to both deserve more, what happend to "the royal rumble winner main events mania?" (10/10 should of been (100/10 if WWE aloud it)
5. ECW Originals V New Breed
An ok match, preety much a filler but good nothing less or more, why ECW is a brand I dont know, it gets the lowest ratings and had a brand of like 15 respected superstars, not to last to long, heard a rumour Vince was going to stop it, he did say however it was doing crap which is what he said on pwinsider about a year ago, the wrestling its self was ok, but could of made a Mania momment if they used the weapons ECW is fammed for, it was also very predictable (6.5/10)
6. Battle Of The Billionairs
A very entertaining match Bobby Lashly made Umaga (formaly Rosey) half decent, very entertaining especialy when shane came in. However I think Lashly's getting to much attention and glory to quickly WWE have already made that msitake with John Cena and if WWE dont think the same may happen with Lashly, Cena's carrer may be ruined because of it, so I think Lashly may need some descussion not to over do his succses before it backfires, on the other hand a very good match, instead of Vince trying to go after some diva which are sick WWE segmants, he gets what he desrves! (10/10)
7. Lumberjill Match
Terrible match, yup it was great seing all the divas! But come on a real waste of time, this could of really gone to the world title match. Ashley really cant wrestle, she wouldnt no how to pin some one if they were dead on the mat, she would proberly botch it like every other thing she does in the ring, Melina on the other hand is a half-decent, the only good womans wrestlers were Trish Stratus and Lita all there is now is Mickie James and Victoria, other than that the divas are as pants as wrestling as this match, how this is the second last match is disgracefull and disrespectful to Takers match, this shouldnt of even been on the card it should of been a dark match and replaced with the battle royal dark match. (2/10)
8. WWE Title
And the so'called main event was surprisingly quite good, but even a classic legend like Shawn Michaels cant make Cena look decent. Now I'v been ranting John a lot but WWE are treating him like a God, just because young children love rap music (Im 16 and my mates all hate him aswell im not the only one!), he is amiditately populer with kids as they idolise rappers and think there cool, the only good rapper is Eminem, but this makes Cena very populer with the black audiance and the young children. He was so much beeter heel, he had a potential now its been spoilt. I cant believe they made Shawn lose he is by far the better wrestler dont ger me wrong the match was very good but is there a point of having a champion who does a maximum of 8 moves a match and its over? Why hes a champion I will never no and if Cena has a brain in his head he knows his career may be potentialy runined, what gives this man to main event 3 consecutive Wrestlemanias. Wrestlemania was really good to Cena, he had huge popularity but when he one the title for the first time it shouldnt have been for long it should of been like Randy orton, if they made Cena get caught up in rivalries at the time it may of potentialy save his career, why WWE is saving him is a mystrery, were board of seeing him champ, think of it this way the lattest PSP game is out, advertised as the best ever, the first time is amazing the next month its collecting dust and thats what I see with Cena, apart from that the match was fairly good and Cena did wrestle fairly well, but Shawn deserved it (8/10
There you have it the review, I know there a few rants but it was just my opinion of making a great Wrestlemania this was to a classic, imagine Shawn winds the belt, then GONG Taker is out and bowls down to shawn in the ring and the two greatest legends congratulate eachover rather than some dude who does 5 moves and thinks hes black?
Well its my opinion, maybe in a few years Vince will listan to us fans and give us the Mania we want!
