DVD Review: This is somewhere bewteen an above average to a good WWE Pay-Per-View.
Summary: 4 Stars
Depending on how you look at Backlash 2008 by the WWE and the matches on the PPV, you would have to think this PPV is either pretty good. (4/5) or average at best (3/5) Personally for me, this is an above average decent Pay-Per-View. (4/5) This PPV was not as good as Wrestlemania 24 last month, but, this PPV was still good. Plus, if it wasn't for the two main events, chances are the Pay-Per-View would be a stinker as BOTH of the main events were the best on the card and Match of Year Candicates as the rest of the card and matches were either bad, average or a little above average.
Match#1:
M.V.P. vs. Matt Hardy:
WWE United States Championship Match:
This was a pretty decent match to start off the show. This match probably wasn't as good as other M.V.P. vs. Matt matches in the past since they put on better then this, but both men can wrestle and they carried each other well in this match. Good match for what it was.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Kane:
ECW Championship Match:
This match was OKAY but, if you know how WWE booking is you know, you know that Chavo would not win the ECW Title since he just lost it just a month ago. Even though, the match had no real special moments that made you go like "WOW!" or, "AWESOME!" it was still a decent match with nothing really great on it.
Match Rating: 6/10
Note: Kane and Chavo DO NOT desrve to be on ECW and treated like low-mid-carders. They are both very good in the ring and much better then some of the main-eventers in the WWE like...Great Khali, Snitsky, Umaga, Mark Henry and basically most if not all of the big men in the WWE.
Match#3:
The Great Khali vs. Big Show:
This was a match I recommend using for a snack and/or bathroom break which I did, as the match was total suckage since "Big Men" matches are never really all that great. The Big Show is a decent wrestler but, The Great Khali on the other hand is a very poor wrestler and if you read my other reviews you know I stated that ALOT already. The match was boring as The Great Khali got, "You Can't Wrestle" chants and a few "Boring" chants happened during the match. If you don't need a bathroom or a snack break, skip this match.

HBK (Shawn Michaels) vs. Batista:
This was a decent match but, I felt both men worked on way too much mat-wrestling instead of brawl-wrestling since both of those men are good at that. The match probably had more entrainment then actcal wrestling but, that really isn't much of a bad thing. Again, decent match which had some good moments and a few good drama moments in the match.

12 Way Divas Tag Team Match:
WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, Ashley, Michelle McCool, Cherry, Maria and Kelly Kelly vs. Layla, Victoria, Beth Phoenix, Natayla Neidhart, Melina and Jillian Hall:
Not too bad of a match by the ladies. Espically after last month's crappy women's "Bunnymania" match. Even though most diva matches are not that great, at least all of the ladies in this match-up keep the match going and moving at a decent pace. Even some of the divas that are just eye-candy like Cherry, Layla, and Michelle, manage to to put on a few good moves in this match. All of the women carried each other well in the match and all of the divas were hot as usual.
Match Rating: 6/10
Note Rating: I hope this doesn't re-spark a feud with Mickie and Beth as Beth is not really the "Glamazon" diva WWE is trying to make her to be. I would rather push a diva like Victoria or Melina feuding over Mickie over the bely rather then Beth. Beth REALLY needs to step up her ring-work.
Match#6:
World Heavyweight Championship Match:
Edge vs. Undertaker:
This match probably wasn't as good as they're Wrestlemania match but, the match and the match these two guys had was pretty good still. Lots of fun in the match was happening as they're was ALOT of good moves happen during here in this match. Great ground-work and was given a perfect time limit.

Main Event:
Fatal 4-Way Elimmation Match for the WWE Champioship:
Randy Orton vs. J.B.L. vs. John Cena vs. Triple H:
This was A VERY GOOD Match. This match along with Edge vs. Taker at Wrestlemania 24 will go down as a good MOTYC (Match of the Year Candicate.) The match was fun to watch, great, solid and was given alot of drama in the match. I'm glad Triple H finally won his championship as he will hopefully put on better matches then Orton even though, Orton is still a good wrestler.

OVERALL:
7.75/10
This was a pretty good WWE Pay-Per-View some people may say this PPV was average at best or a little above average but, I thought this was a pretty good PPV. Recommend buying it.
