I love this series and can not get enough. I have watch it numerous time and have even both all the movies, and series. It is a great series to watch if you are into anime. I am hopefull that the creator will continue the series somehow. It did say at the end NEVER END. Me and my daughter want to know if it did work out between men and women living together, and if Dita and Hibiki stay togeter. Overall the series is absolutly owesome, it is a must see series.DVD Review: manga

Vandread - Second Stage: Survival. I looked passed the `not as good as the first' thing and enjoyed Survival. Besides adding Misty to the list of women pursuing Hibiki was the episode `Blossoming Path', which Bart and Duero actually left the Nirvana... can't give away what happens after. It looks very promising... looking forward to the rest of the series.DVD Review: Whoa....coolness!

I love this series! The art is beautiful, the space battles are done in awesome computer animation, and the plot, while not original, is an excellent twist on an old topic. The characters are so cool, and one of them just got MUCH cooler!Buzam Calessa, called BC, is the second in command on the ship. She is a no-nonsense woman who takes her job very seriously. It's obvious that she has not gotten the chance to cut loose much, as evidenced by the Christmas party and a few other instances. But we have never gotten the chance to see her in any other position but directing the others. That changes in this volume. We get to see BC using her favorite weapon--a BULLWHIP. And let me tell you, she kicks major ass! ^_~
I love watching this volume just to see BC using that whip against Liz's weapons! Go BC!

If you watched the first season of Vandread, then you know that one of the women is pregnant. Well, in this dvd, she has the baby in a very funny, moving scene that had me and my best friend laughing (when we weren;t in shock). I mean, this is the ONLY anime I have ever heard of that would even think of approaching a subject like this, much less actually focus on it for an episode. They don't show anything...explicit, but there is also no denying what is going on.So be warned...
Description of Vandread - Second Stage - Survival (Vol. 1) - With Series Box
The sequel to Vandread picks up where the 2001 TV series left off. In the future, men and women live separately; Hibiki, Duero, and Bart are three lone males among the all-female crew of the Nirvana. Dita's pursuit of Hibiki is complicated by Jura's desire to have him father a child and the arrival of Misty, who thinks he's cute. Vandread remains an agglomeration of discordant elements that never quite gel. Flat drawn animation of the characters is intercut with three-dimensional CG space battles. The generally silly tone plays against such tear-jerker story lines as "Blossoming Path"; the grim plot about humans being harvested for their organs is juxtaposed with a Tenchi-like rivalry for Hibiki's affections. Characters clad in scanty "fan service" costumes deliver statements about the power of women. Second Stage is sometimes amusing, but it's rarely coherent.
