Description of Un Ricon Cerca Del Cielo
Previously called El hijo del pueblo. The honest, humble and hopeful Pedro arrives in Mexico City and gets work in an office. He falls in love with one of his co-workers, Margarita (López), and they marry. When she becomes pregnant, the jealous boss fires Pedro. Margarita, ever of good cheer, finds them a ramshackle room up a long flight of stairs on the roof of a building. She works hard as a seamstress and laundress to support their child. Pedro gets work as a bodyguard to the despicable Martín (Aceves). When the kindly Chema (Soler) confronts Martín about his relationship with his daughter, Martín orders Pedro to hit the old man. Pedro, tired of being humiliated by the thug, refuses and hits Martín instead. In Spanish no Subtitles Anteriormente titulada El Hijo del Pueblo. Pedro, honrado, humilde y lleno de esperanza, llega a la capital y consigue trabajo en una oficina. Se enamora de una de sus compańeras, Margarita (López), y acaban casándose. Cuando Margarita se embaraza, el celoso jefe despide a Pedro. Margarita, siempre de buen humor, consigue un destartalado cuarto para los tres al final de una larga escalera en la azotea de un edificio. Trabaja de costurera y lavandera para mantener a su hijo, mientras que Pedro se convierte en el guardaespaldas del odioso Martín (Aceves). Cuando el bondadoso Chema (Soler) enfrenta a Martín por la relación con su hija, Martín le ordena a Pedro que le dé una golpiza a Chema.
