DVD Reviews of The Wedding PlannerDVD Review: Boring, Corny and Predictable Summary: 2 StarsThis movie was not good. Not good at all. I even watched this movie a couple of times, just to give it another chance and both times regretted it. It seemed like both characters were trying too hard to act, the lines were corny as well as alot of the scenes. I think I would have liked this movie better if they had different actors for the main characters. Jennifer Lopez is a ok actress, the only movie I have really ever liked her in was Selena. Matthew McConaughey is an overrated actor, even though I think he is quite handsome he is seriously lacking in he acting skills department.
DVD Review: Great Movie Summary: 5 StarsAwwww, I love this movie. You will definitely laugh through out the movie. J-Lo really does a great job in this movie. Oh and can't forget the handsome Matthew McConaughey! I would recommend this movie to everyone. Even your kids can watch this one!
DVD Review: The Wedding Planner Summary: 5 StarsMary Fiore is the wedding planner extraordinaire. Since she has always been unlucky in love, she decides that those that can't wed - they plan! While crossing the street, her heel becomes lodged in the street grate. As she tries to free it, a dumpster comes loose heading her way. In the nick of time, she is pushed out of the way, but hits her head on the pavement and looses consciousness. When Mary comes to, she finds out that handsome Dr. Steve Edison saved her. Her assistant sets up a date for them that works out very well except when he begins to kiss her it starts to rain. The next time that she sees Dr. Steve is when - surprise surprise - she meets the groom of the current wedding she is planning. Mary vows to remain distant and to plan the best wedding for Fran and Steve, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
This is a very entertaining and heartfelt movie. Jennifer Lopez is wonderful and Matthew McConaughey is sexy and charming. What great chemistry they have on screen!
DVD Review: Interesting twist on the regular romance story Summary: 4 StarsThis is an interesting romance movie, seeing that the wedding planner ends up with the groom.
It's not my favorite movie but it's worth adding to the collection.
The comedy in it is subtle and that's why I didn't rate it higher.
DVD Review: Ugh Summary: 1 StarsThis, for me, is one of the worst romantic comedies I've ever seen. Its so mundane and unoriginal and completely not funny. Jennifer Lopez is a one character actor. Honestly. There is no range with her. People pay money to see her films, but really, they are just watching the same movie over and over again. Everyone who watches this movie will know what will happen at the end. Its a given. There is no need for obstacles or pointless drama. Romantic comedies are *almost* all the same. Same characters, same ending. However, what makes this one even more unbearable is the fact that once again, Jennifer Lopez is in it. Even Matt Mcconaughey can't salvage this.
Description of The Wedding PlannerMary Fiore (Jennifer Lopez) is the wedding planner. She's ambitious hard-working extremely organized and she knows exactly what to do and say to make any wedding a spectacular event. But when Mary falls (literally) for a handsome doctor (Matthew McConaughey) her busy yet uncomplicated life is turned upside down - he's the groom in the biggest wedding of her career! Will she help him walk down the aisle with his internet tycoon girlfriend (Bridgette Wilson-Sampras) or will Mary finally get to be the bride herself? As this sweet romantic comedy proves when it comes to love you can never plan what's going to happen.System Requirements:Starring: Jennifer Lopez Matthew McConaughey and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras. Directed By: Adam Shankman. Running Time: 100 Min. Color. This film is presented in "Widescreen" format. Copyright 2001 Columbia TriStar Home Video.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre:?COMEDY Rating:?PG-13 UPC:?043396061576 Manufacturer No:?06157 The good news is, yes, Jennifer Lopez can do comedy. In The Wedding Planner Lopez is Mary, a lovable woman who believes "those who can't do, teach. Those who can't wed, plan!" Her slapstick moments are lighthearted and she is spot-on as the controlling, compulsive-yet-sweet planner. The bad news is Lopez didn't get much of a vehicle in which to test drive her newfound comedic skills. Mary's life is her career. Planning other people's weddings takes all of her time, leaving no room for a love life of her own. Her only personal life is a Scrabble club, to which she and her father (Alex Rocco, whose wandering Italian accent is painful to listen to) belong. When a handsome young doctor (Matthew McConaughey) saves her from a collision with a runaway dumpster (really, it works), she is instantly wooed by his quiet charm. Too bad he's the fianc? of Mary's biggest client, Fran (played winningly by Bridgette Wilson-Sampras), the job that will launch Mary as a partner in her firm. The main problem with this film is that no one wants to hurt anyone else's feelings. Everyone is just so gosh-darn nice. In a subplot, Mary's father is trying to arrange her marriage to just the nicest Italian boy. Gee, he's sweet. Golly, Fran is nice. Is there ever a way out of this mess and to leave everyone smiling? Yet, there is a touch of old-fashioned romance to this wholesome film, which can only be described as "cute." And while things may unfold in a predictable manner, The Wedding Planner is still lighthearted fun of the sort that inspires dreamy romantic thoughts. --Jenny Brown
