My strength and stamina went up the more I did it. Like most things, it works when you do it! If I keep at this I know I will reach my goal.
DVD Review: Finally a work out that isn't a waste of time Summary: 5 StarsI've been doing work out videos work day mornings for years, and would consider myself to an "intermediate" when it comes to exercise. Prior to this, I had been mostly doing Buns of Steel and Denise Austin videos and hadn't seen any results. I decided that I was tired of doing wimpy work-outs and wanted to get toned in time for my wedding. I'm a size 4 and didn't need to lose any weight, and since I'm vegan I didn't bother to get his diet book. Rather than do the two week blitz, I stretched it out to six weeks and only did the 45 minute work-out 5 days a week for the first 4 weeks and then added the extra 30 minute workout the last two weeks. I was shocked by how quickly I saw results. After two weeks my clothes felt so much looser even though I was only doing a modified version. After three weeks I tried on my wedding dress to see if it still fit and it was falling off of me. I wasn't expecting this to happen because it is a strapless dress and is only fitted around the chest and upper torso and I'm only a 34 B to begin with. I realized that I had lost two inches of back fat, which I hadn't thought possible. After six weeks I was in the best shape of my life. Although I found the workout to be extremely difficult, in the beginning I was skeptic that I would see those kind of results. One might mistake this for a video geared towards men. There is A LOT of weight lifting and push ups. In fact, you're lifting weights while doing other exercises (think jumping jacks while doing over head presses). This isn't something you see in other videos. Even though it seems like you're only working your arms, back, and shoulders, the next day I felt sore around my love handles, saddle bags, and lower abs. If the routine is too difficult for you, Kirsch has two back-up exercisers behind him, Julie and Matt (Matt is cute). Julie does some modifications to make it a little easier, and Matt modifies it to make it a little harder. I think stretching the workout to six weeks is definitely the way to go and I think that a beginner exerciser would find this video to be physically impossible. You know how in other videos there will be that one exercise that's really hard? This is only hard exercises. Another thing I'm concerned about if one really did wait until two weeks before their wedding to do this routine, you leave yourself no time to get alterations. Unless you bought a dress that was too small for you (never a good idea) or you need to get back in shape after having a baby.
DVD Review: WOW Summary: 5 StarsThis DVD is way better than my regular gym program! I felt much more challenged and motivated. The only CON is that the music doesn't "match" the rithm of the exercise. Other than that, I loved it.
DVD Review: it works! Summary: 5 StarsI read the book, and then used it to see if I could lose any weight in 14 days, as promised. The book is written in such a way that each day for 14 days there is a testimony from someone who did the program, as well as David Kirsch encouraging you through that day, as if he is walking with you through the diet. There are recipes, and I just picked the ones I liked and made them over and over. The food tasted great,and I ordered the shakes, which were good if I added some fruit, which didn't seem to have a detrimental effect on my weight loss. I ended up losing 8 lbs. and inches off my waist and hips. I lost my craving for sugar, and I was really impressed. It is a diet one can go back to if you ever need to lose weight fast and feel great...but you have to give yourself a couple of days to get acclimated to what you can't have. By the way, it works after your metabolism has totally slowed down. So age isn't an issue with this diet.
DVD Review: Anything worth having takes hard work Summary: 5 StarsI have had the book of the same title for over a year however found the exercises very difficult to follow in a timely manner when trying to go by the book. The DVD was the perfect answer to my problem. It is very easy to follow along with David, he explains and demonstrates the exercises clearly. The scenery is beautiful and the time truly passes quite quickly. I warn you though, it is a very difficult workout but absolutely worth it. The changes you will see in your body in such a short amount of time are amazing. Don't give up, even if the first few times you attempt the DVD you are unable to complete it. Work up to it and you too will reap the benefits of having the body you have always wanted and have worked so hard to achieve. Best of luck!
