In Transgressing the Boundaries: Toward a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity, Alan Sokal perpetrated the hoax that reality isn't actually real.
Goswami is essentially making a claim along the same lines except that he actually believes it, and he wants you too.
Goswami makes the claim there is scientific evidence of mental telepathy. Aside from the fact there have never been any peer-reviewed, carefully controlled, reliably reproducible results of any psi phenomena in recorded history, let's consider this from a lay common sense perspective. I remember when I was high school or even junior high, on a Sunday afternoon. I was walking by some shops that were gated shut with a padlock. At that moment, I realized if telekinesis were possible, locks would be useless. All the very constructs of our civilization built for our appendages would be totally irrelevant if people could manipulate matter remotely with their mind. Imprisoning unscrupulous people with such capabilities would require they be perpetually sedated or even killed. We would be living an X-Men movie where the X-Men are criminals.
Similarly, the crime of fraud (now called identity theft) would have long ago necessitated the use of lead helmets (assuming that can even block the "quantum nonlocality" mechanism). Even poorly paid teachers not concerned with having their money stolen would have to wear them, lest cheating would become rampant and uncontrollable. Ironically, lying would be hard to do. We'd be living a real world version of the Mel Gibson movie What Women Want where everybody would know what everyone else is thinking. The Fringe episode Concentrate and Ask Again also depicted a similar scenario. The telepath was forced into living in seclusion because the input overwhelmed him.
In sum, none of this is reality because our mental powers over the physical world are reduced to our arms, legs, and mouths.
Refuting down the supposed quantum-consciousness connection is even simpler. He didn't even claim any evidence for this. He simply stated that it is so. This isn't science. It's mysticism.
