DVD Reviews of The NeverEnding StoryDVD Review: Best Childhood movie EVER! Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of those movies I put on when I want to transport myself to a simpler time and just get away from the world for a little while. The visuals are just stunning and the story is moving, while at the same time being adventurous. The kids chosen to play Bastian/Atreyu were perfect for the parts, and will forever in my mind be the default faces for those characters. Even if the story can seem slightly dark at times, this is still a great movie worth owning for the kids, or if you're a kid at heart yourself.
Two thumbs up for being one of the most wonderful movies ever!!!

DVD Review: best childhood movie ever Summary: 5 StarsA friend and I were talking about this movie so I looked it up on Amazon and found it for only 4 dollars!!! It was neat to watch a fave childhood movie as an adult. It also made me realize how weird some kids movies are haha
DVD Review: Slightly Damaged Summary: 3 StarsThe case had a piece broken out of it, and the plastic that holds the DVD in place was broken, so the DVD moved around in shipping and got scratched on one side. Fortunately, the other side was not scratched. The damage to the case probably happened during shipping. Maybe more padding is needed when shipping this type of case.
DVD Review: One of the Greatest Family Movies Ever Made Summary: 5 StarsOne of the greatest family movies of all time, The Neverending Story, directed by Wolfgang Peterson, still moves me even after having watched this film dozens of times. I had the opportunity to watch this again tonight with my kids and couldn't go to sleep without writing something about it.
I am grateful for having been exposed to movies and messages such as this during my childhood, for they helped cultivate in me the belief I needed to not give up on my own dreams. Intelligent, spiritual, hopeful and inspirational, The Neverending Story is essential viewing particularly for those of you with children.
At the essence of the story is the great threat from the `Nothing' which is wiping out the world of dreams and hopes, the world of childhood fantasies, ambitions and goals. For what is left when we lose hope and the will to believe in our own dreams? Nothing.
And what is required to give birth to our dreams, our hopes, the very music buried within our souls? Simply the courage to believe, and to act upon that belief.
With valuable lessons such as believing in your own worth, not succumbing to sorrow and sadness, and believing in your dreams, The Neverending Story is not only entertaining, but of immense value as well. I would rather not give away too much of this very special movie. If you haven't yet seen it, get a copy. If you have seen it, see it again. Anything is possible. Dream. Live!
Description of The NeverEnding StoryA young boy named Bastian borrows a mysterious ornately-bound book that takes him into the fantastic world of Fantasia. Genre: Feature Film Family Rating: PG Release Date: 3-FEB-2004 Media Type: DVD Wolfgang Petersen (In the Line of Fire) made his first English-language film with this 1984 fantasy about a boy (Barret Oliver) visualizing the stories of a book he's reading. The imagined tale involves another boy, a warrior (Noah Hathaway), and his efforts to save the empire of Fantasia from a nemesis called the Nothing. Whether or not the scenario sticks in the memory, what does linger are the unique effects, which are not quite like anything else. Plenty of good fairy-tale characters and memorable scenes, and the film even encourages kids to read. --Tom Keogh
