This was my daughter's favorite movie when she was growing up. She literally watched it until the VHS was worn completely out. We bought her the DVD version a couple of years ago & I guess the Blue Ray will come next... I still remember the song after 15 years...and you will too. Buy this for your kids & you'll be their hero... This was Amy's favorite movie!

DVD Review: One of the Greatest Films for Children.
Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of the greatest films I've ever viewed as a child. The first time I saw this film I was barely 7 or 8 years old, and after the death of the mother dinosaur I had to be taken home by my parents. After that, I've cried horribly at the same part, even when I was 23 years old; though I've stayed for the duration of the film afterward since then. After that, the film has imparted values of friendship, sharing, etc; that I've taken to heart. This film has affected me so much, it's difficult to describe. It teaches values of individuality, friendship, family, teamwork, and so forth; and on top of that, the animation is beautiful. The characters are likable and amusing. You are emotionally involved from the start, and is rewarding for everyone who involves themselves with the characters. It's been one of the most wonderful movies I've ever seen in my life, and I still enjoy watching it to this day. It's the best animated movie I've ever seen, and still warms my heart. When my son was little he watched this movie and loved it. Now that he is 27, he has his own little daughter who is 18 mos. old. For his birthday in March, I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and this is what he told me. I would like to have the original first movie of Land Before Time so that I can watch it with my little girl so that she can see what her dad watched when he was young. I just thought this was so nice of him to want to share this with her that I bought the movie for them. He wasn't concerned about a present for himself but something he could share with his little girl.

(mca) Release Date: 01/13/2004 Run time: 69 minutes Rating: G Director: Don BluthThis 1988 animated feature from Don Bluth (An American Tail) focuses on an orphaned young dinosaur, Littlefoot, who has to make his way to the paradise of the Great Valley in order to survive a plague. Along the way, he meets up with some other dinos from different species, and they all bond and travel together. On the way, they have plenty of adventures. Even with elements of suspense, this is a pretty relaxed movie that isn't in a particular hurry to roll out its story. Kids will like the originality of the concept, and the themes of friendship and cooperation are well woven into the fabric of the entertainment, plus the music is great. Bluth's artwork looks good, though--as always--he never seems to quite catch up with the quality of the Disney machine. --Tom Keogh
