DVD Review: Good calorie burn, good instruction on form, cueing tripped me up

I'll be honest, I got this dvd on sale dirt cheap (a couple of bucks) at TJ Maxx or I wouldn't have taken the risk. I say this because Firm workouts are known, in the opinions of my co-workout buddies and me, for being ok to follow if you do Firm workouts all the time, but which can trip you up tremendously otherwise becuase of the way many of the instructors do cueing.
But don't get me wrong...I've given great reviews to some Firm workouts. It's just that many of them, especially those with fast aerobics moves can be uber confusing to me in spite of the fact that I workout 6 days a week to a collection of over 100 fitness dvds. ( I only mention this so you know I have some comparison...)
That said, I wear a bodybugg to measure my daily caloric burn and so I also measure how many calories I burn during a dvd and this DOES offer good caloric burn. So it most assuredly sets out to do what it says it will if you can follow the steps.
The dvd asks that you purchase a Firm "fanny lifter" and their weighted "sculpting" stick. However, you can either go without the stick or, when they are holding it, simply hold two light weights as many of the moves they do with the stick are moves you'll see on other dvds with weights. For the Fanny lifter you can use a step or a bosu or just do the moves without it. The Firm is excellent at marketing...they come out with new equipment each year "needed" for the dvds but you can typically replace it or go without.
Now, back to the cueing...the difference I find in Firm dvds (including this one) and my favorites that have great cueing is that many Firm instructors will shout out the moves, or worse--a combination of moves, as you do them rather then prepping you verbally before which is what "cueing" means and can be done when you are doing reps of another move prior to the switch. And they have names for moves that are only in Firm workouts so shouting it out to those of us who workout to other dvds will feel they are cueing in "non-English". But here's what I mean about multiple cueing...you will be moving really fast doing something and then she'll switch by yelling out, in this dvd, something like "okay NOW: low match, lowjack, toe tap to the rear front side front! WHILE she's doing it. I kid you not. So while she is doing that I'm still trying to put it all together in my head. In spite of feeling fairly competent in other areas of my life, consider me slow in choreography. So during these times I may stumble along trying to figure it all out and just think I can move on to the next move and forget it when I'm still not getting it when she'll teach something new THEN say "okay now let's put it all together!" because this is one of those "firm with choreography" dvds...you don't just do a move and follow her along to something new and something new after that, you do a move then need to memorize the combo each time she adds a new move so at the end of the segment you are doing you can "put it all together" and do them fast in a row, all the moves you've been taught preceding that one in multi-segments.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing...I'm just saying it's a bad thing for me. I'm not great at choreography and being able to follow cueing when its being shouted out rather than after it's being signaled doesn't work for me, nor does memorizing the steps in order to put them all together in a row quickly with no cueing later.
The music is good and the instructor is warm, it's a good set, offers moves for both beginners and those more advanced, gives good instructions in form, and even with all I mentioned it's still not as hard to follow as some other Firm dvds so it's not one I hate...it's just not my favorite either.
