DVD Review: Comedians with excellent credits and timing...

This is mostly in response to TONY Z...who by his own admission (from his profile) is happiest when he is "arguing with conservatives"....
By the looks of his "review" He is a very bitter human being, esp towards Christians...Hence his many "complaints" that don't hold water EG: I (Michael Joiner)call myself "God's Smart Aleck", and he's got some made up problem with THAT?!?!
He's just looking for trouble from the get go...
And his argument that we are just not funny?
Well, I am partial to disagree, You dont appear on the coveted Jay Leno, if you are NOT funny (Michael Jr and Carlos Oscar), you dont appear on Comedy Central, if you are NOT funny (the same, as well as myself, Michael Joiner), You dont win the Hollywood Improv's FUNNIEST COMIC IN LA 2008, if you are NOT FUNNY! (again, my credit, Michael Joiner go to michaeljoiner.com), and you dont get hired to host 4 major, world wide distributed videos (my good buddy, Thor Ramsey) if you suck as a Comedian....
I would however, like to thank Tony for inspiring me to write several new bits entitled, "Bitter liberals and their un happy God hating bitter lives".....:)

Is this a joke?
Christian comedians... telling clean jokes, and their whole advertising is just that they are... not swearing???
Wow. Something doesn't add up.
Now there's nothing wrong with clean comedy. Brian Regan is extremly clean and one of the best comedians out today. But he doesn't advertise God and being clean, he just doesn't need to swear or be raunchy.
Seinfeld is another great example. Probably one of the all time greatest... and hardly says anything worse than "damn". He's a genius... but he doesn't get sucessful or popular because he is clean, it's just that he is hilarious.
These guys are just horrid:
"Old people are small!"
"Men snore!"
"Cell phone are weird! They don't know who Bob is!"
"Wives have towels for special occasions!"
This is how the main guy is annocunced:
"And now... God's smart-alack!!"
Wow... if that isn't pandering to the audience.
"Him and God are buddies... let's laugh at everything he says!"
Here's one... I'm not sure if it is on this DVD, but it is from the main guy.
"A guy asked me how my mom was, and he didn't know she died.
I said 'She's with Jesus.'
He said 'She died?'
I said 'No she ran off with the Mexican gardener named Jesus!!!'"
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
If you are a fan of the Disney Channel, then you might like this. About the same level of humour as "Hanna Montana".
There are a few gems here and there... but this is pretty horrible. Notice most of the reviews are from Christians who watch this during mass get-togethers.
If the only thing you can say about the comedy is that it is for the whole family, it's pretty bad. This is just bad. Chrisitians telling crappy clean jokes to more Christians... no thank you.
Buy this and vote pro-life!

DVD Review: A comlpete dissapointment!

I want to start out this review on a positive note. In order to do this, I must start out with a comparrison of this video to a very successful one.
I recently rented "Apostles of Comedy" on a recommendation from a good friend. I've had sooo many bad experiences with "Christian Comedians", but that one was truly was a joy to watch. It was easily the best Christian Comedians I've ever heard.
After that one, I had my confidence and faith in Christian Comedy restored. So, I decided to take a chance on another one that seemed to be recommended closely to the Apostles of Comedy. So off I went to my queue and requested it.
When I received the video, I held by breath, hoped and prayed for a positive experience.
What a complete and utter failure. It started off with behind the scenes shots of the comics. I have no idea why these Christian Comedian movie makers view it as necessary to show us the life and times of the comedians. Especially at the front. The behind the scenes stuff seemed poorly done and not relevant, so immediately I had a bad taste in my mouth.
Then the comedians started up...it went from bad to worse. The comedy was very bad and their delivery was worse. Some of the routines could have actually been funny if they had been delivered better.
Timing...Timing... Timing... and Delivery... Delivery... Delivery....
These guys had none of this.
If its good clean comedy that you crave, dont bother with this one. Run, dont wall to the "Aposltes of Comedy" and dont look back!

A great dvd with LOTS of laughter in store for all. If you have seen any of Michael Jr. or Thor Ramsey there will nothing new on this dvd but the other two guys are EXCELLENT. It is a keeper for our family. It just would have been nice to hear some new material from Ramsey and Jr.DVD Review: The Seller was awesome, but the DVD was not that great.
