Absolutely hilarious! I'm not normally a big Shia LaBeouf fan but his voice and personality are perfect for the role. The documentary style of the film was genius. Surf's up was one of the better CGI movies I have seen in a while that had childish humor that was still fun for adults. Great voice performances by Shia LaBeouf, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder, Jeff Bridges and an interesting "mockumentary" style comedy that makes it unique. A perfect movie for surfer fans because it does include some voices of the best in the industry: Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and Sal Masekela as the SPEN Announcer. As far as Picture Quality it couldn't be better with its Direct Digital Encode but does contain a lot of intentional grain when emphasizing the "mockumentary" interviews or flash backs. Overall I would say this is a fun movie, with a great soundtrack that the kids will love and the adults will enjoy; if you are a fan of CGI's this will definitely be a great addition to your collection.

Come join Cody (Shia LaBeouf) a Rockhopper penguin as he journeys from his home in Shiverpool Antarctica to take part in the Big Z Memorial Surf-Off on the beach of Pen Gu Island. During his adventure he meets some new friends including surf nut Chicken Joe (Jon Heder) and the spirited lifeguard Lani (Zooey Deschanel). But the documentary style gives the movie a different rhythm from the usual feature-length cartoon; it stutters and skips around, dithers on side topics, and backtracks to catch up with supporting characters. Some viewers may be annoyed, but others--perhaps the more media-savvy--will find it a refreshing change of pace. (Kids who don't watch much sports, however, may just find it confusing.)
