DVD Review: Great for beginners Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great video for a beginner without regular access to a teacher and might offer some insights to the experienced practitioner. I have personally seen a marked improvement in the relaxing of my shoulders.
What I really think is a plus is the wide selection of workout choices. Mr. Rones has taken into account how much time you have available and your personal level of comfort with each technique.
You'll also find that the animation used can improve visualization in your meditation. For a beginner this is very important because the direction of focus can radically improve chances of success.
Consider getting this in conjunction with the Sunrise Tai Chi DVD for an even more well rounded practice.
DVD Review: A great way to end the day Summary: 5 StarsThis DVD is a great addition to my collection. The forms and exercises presented have given me a wonderful routine to follow as I wind down from the stresses of the day. The companion disc, Sunrise Tai Chi, provides the perfect bookend to my routine.
I found the disc easy to follow and the routine flows. It is easy to remember which is key to being able to keep it up after you've played the disc a couple of times. I like this quite a bit and would recommend it to others.
DVD Review: Good DVD Summary: 5 StarsSunset Tai Chi includes a set of simple chi gung exercises and a short form tai chi that even a beginner such as me can learn and enjoy. I found the tai chi set calms my nerves after a stressful day. The instructions for the simple chi gung exercises were effective in instructing a person in performing them in a correct manner. Although any martial art or chi gung practice is best learned with the help of a competent instructor, this is a valuable supplement to such training. If you are in an area where such instructors are not available, this DVD will get you started on exploring your internal energy.
DVD Review: sunset tai chi :)revitalizes and good for beginners Summary: 5 StarsThis dvd is excellent. There is no way not to learn from the very beginning. I've started learning breathing techniques first. There are two breathing exercises early in the warm up to begin chi breathing; these are taoist breathing and buddhist breathing. Awesome teachings from a dvd! Ramel Rones is good too. The teacher is credited with very fine accomplishments, though this dvd stands entirely alone. As a beginner I've learned that there are long form styles, and this dvd is not a comprehensive treatment of a long style. But there are WORKOUT options to choose that span 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes. I've been learning at the WARM UP comprising single exercises. The workout forms are taught singly as well. The workouts are combinations of the forms and stances as we know tai chi from watching. So this dvd can train a fresh beginner right into a tai chi master!
There is so much offered by Sunset Tai Chi (YMAA) DVD! There are hours of exercises. Remember the title. This tai chi form was made for revitalizing after a work day, or long day, or stressful day. The viewer chooses an appropriate workout. I've been doing just the very beginning warm ups and feel very yoga. Yea I really liked my first yoga instructor, too, and he wasn't a dvd! Ramel Rones does invite you personally to learn tai chi, it seems, using this dvd.
I am a runner and I'm 42. I mountain bike, road bike, and swim. I'm even interested in trying a triathlon or two when my swimming becomes stronger. I've been thinking about how I could breath more while running. I think tai chi breathing has given insight. And tai chi breathing is possibly the correct technique I need to breathe deeper while running. It will take practice.
This is my first tai chi insrtuction. I recommend this dvd. It is beautiful. I bought a second tai chi dvd already.
