My classroom of mixed kids 10 and under -- all were mesmerized! Also showed it to extended family; anyone under 11, or beyond peer pressure, also liked it. My teens loved dvd Newton in a Bottle so why not this one also? Theme of animal and snow characters with silly voices telling the story of the stranger in the woods didn't entertain the older set. But I'll still share it with any one young at heart.

DVD Review: Hilarious for adults, musical for kids
Summary: 5 Stars

The video isn't much like the book at all until the end. It's more entertaining than educational due to the dialogues and singing. Mostly, it's jam-packed with singing and great video clips/photos of animals in their winter habitats. Pay attention parents, and you'll be able to pick up on some dry (but not crude) humor which maks this video more bearable than other juvenile counterparts. It's a little long for some audiences; a preview will give you an idea on how the video can be chopped up into smaller sections. The voices of some animals are childlike, and at times a bit pitchy to comprehend, but in the songs it doesn't really matter much as long as everyone enjoys the music. Did I mention the music? Bonus features include a memory recall game.

DVD Review: A bit disappointed

I bought the CD after reading great critics but was disappointed. It's short, no action and it's based on a single idea. My kids were bored afer 10 min and when the end came, I was still waiting for the movie to start. Yes, the pictures are beautiful and it's poetic. But it's not enough to make it work.
