DVD Reviews of Sonic X - A Super Sonic Hero (Vol. 1) (Edited)

DVD Review: Great Show...
Summary: 5 Stars

I know I'm going to be killed for saying this, but I like the edited versions of this show. The Japanese version contains some fairly strong swear words and a little more violence. While I certainly wouldn't mind a little more action, I appreciate the editing out of the swear words. Also, while this editing isn't the most popular among many hard-core Sonic X fains, keep in mind that this show is geared towards kids (at least in America); and despite the fact that is IS geared towards kids, this show can appeal to "older kids" as well (such as myself). Most of the storylines are good, there is a great deal of continuity throughout the entire show, and (I'm going to get killed for this too), I love the voices. The acting CAN be a little off at times, but it really doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the show. The animation is also pretty sweet most of the time.

...and did I mention I was a fan of the first two Sonic series as well as all the old (and some of the new) video games? This show is awesome no matter what generation of Sonic fan you are ;)

DVD Review: Better than the first series
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the second cartoon series for sonic the hedgehog. The orinal first cartoon series for sonic aired in either the late 80s or early ninties. In addition there also was a short 60 minute animated movie for sonic made in the mid ninties around the time the Tekken movie came out. A word of warning these episode have some mild thematic elements, mild violence, and mild action seuqences in them. They should be fine for kids age seven and older. Also to inform if you are trying to watch the epsiodes for this series in chronological order after episode three eject the disk and put in volume 2 if you have it. There are actually four episode on this dvd but there is a huge jump in the time line chronolical in the fourth episode. The fourth bonus episode is actually not the 4th episode but the 27th on. Why they did put all the episodes in chronological order I did not understand. Since there out of order I will only give you a synthessi for episode 1-3 in case you did not see episodes 4-26. In episode one sonic breath eggmans base to recover the seven chaos emerald. Eggman panicks and activates a mechine which sends sonic into another time and world. Shortly after arrive in the mddile of a street sonic is chase by the police. The send there special s squad out to capture sonic. Sonic escapes but unfortunately lands in a pool is temporaily immobolized. Unlike in the games sonic does not die when he touches the water. In episode 2 it has been a few hours since sonic was rescued by chris. Learning that sonic female friend Cream the rabbit on of the newer characters is being held at a military base. Can sonic, chris and his granfather rescue them. As episode 3 begins sonic, cream, and tails have been reunited we also learn that amy nuckles and eggman have also be transported to the new dimension. Egg man send a gigantic robot to terrorize and destroy the city. Can sonic stop him. If you like I recommend volume 2 chaos control.

DVD Review: Could have been better, but it's the only good show from 4kids
Summary: 4 Stars

Reading reviews about this show and knowing that it was re-edited by 4kids made me think it was gonna be a horrible "reproduction" of the original Japanese episodes. I knew I was taking a risk, but in the end, I actually ended up liking the show. The manic theme song at the beginning was ok, the action was nice, and the characters were there. The only thing I have problems about is some of the voice actors (they sound totally different from the original actors), and the fact that it's an edited DVD. The entire sonic x series could have been better if they cast most of the original voice actors from the games, especially Tails, because he just plain sounds like a girl. 4kids takes stuff that's aimed at kids 6 and older makes it sound like they're aiming at kids 4 and under. Most of the plot and RARELY some of the GOOD jokes are still there, though, which makes this watchable for the entire family. I would give the entire series a 5 star rating, but because of all of the good things taken out of it and the voice actors sounding totally different makes this a 4. Not the best thing out there, since it's from 4kids, but it's better than 99% of the rest of their shows. A must buy.

DVD Review: Don't listen to S.L.J.C.O.A.A.T.R listen to C.hrozencik
Summary: 5 Stars

C.hrozencik reviews are vary good and he knows more about sonic then anyone on amazon look at all his reviews and say yes to them!!!

DVD Review: Sonic turns into a anmie
Summary: 5 Stars

Man Sonic X is cool. Not only does sonic get warped into another world but they also have epsoides based on the games. I a littlw woried that the seires would be like Sonic Underground with all that junk but I was wrong. Also it's anmie and I orderd the orginal uncut japanse epsoides of Zstore and they are even cooler. Also it has all the orginal charecters such as Tails, Knuckles,Amy,Cream, and Shadow. There are also new charecters that are Chris,Chuck,Danny,Ela, and Matt. The Foxbox did a good job makeing this and makeing sure that Dic didn't get away with it's terbile cartoons agian which makes me vary happy. Sonic X is the next-genaration of a sonic telvisoin series.
