DVD Reviews of Snow Day

DVD Review: Snow Day
Summary: 4 Stars

I used it for a work related event and the children realy enjoyed it. It is one that and adult can enjoy as well.

DVD Review: Well pleased with order
Summary: 5 Stars

I have always enjoyed this movie. It reflects how children, young and old, get excited when the snow begans to fall. We imagine building snowmen, having snowball fights and stoking the fireplace for a warm winters night. We especially hope that the snow will be deep enough to cancel school and/or work for at least a day.

DVD Review: Funny!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was at a large movie/music store in Florida, looking for this movie. They didn't have it there, but suggested I could get it on Amazon for the same sale price!

DVD Review: NOT FOR FANS OF PETE & PETE! THIS MOVIE SHOULDN'T EVEN EXIST!
Summary: 1 Stars

How my ratings work:
5 - I really liked/loved it
4 - I liked it
3 - Could've been better/worth a look
2 - Just didn't live up to the potential
1 - Simply aweful

Some reviewer said this was a movie for fans of The Adnventures of Pete & Pete. That's a giant LOAD!!!! The Adventures of Pete & Pete is my all time favorite show, and I recently read this movie was meant to be a Pete & Pete movie. But this film came about when Nickelodeon had lost it's mind and tried to appeal to teenage audiences. Oh sure you could say it has the elements of the show, but hardly any. The soundtrack for this movie sucks compaired to what Pete & Pete gave us. What is the deal with that song "Another Dumb Blonde" by Hoku? It has nothing to do with the movie whatsoever, yet they have it as the main song and it's just a terrible song. Pete & Pete was like an alternative rock show, this movie is a commercialized mess. I can't believe some actors from Pete & Pete would even participate in this. The narration is nothing like the show, for starters it's just narration, no cut to the protagonist looking at the camera. The child actors are worthless, they have none of the charms of stars Michael Maronna (Big Pete) and Danny Tamberelli (Little Pete) or any of the kid actors that appeared on the show over the seasons. Chevy Chase just needs to stop trying to make movies, he lost his funny long ago. Only blowholes like this movie. They need to make a REAL Pete & Pete movie.

DVD Review: THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!!!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

This movie was so boring i fell asleep during it. The best part was the ending!

Description of Snow Day

When a snow day cancels school Hal Webber intends to use the free time to make an impression on Claire, while his sister Natalie is determined to prolong the time off from school by stopping Snowplowman from clearing the roads.
Genre: Feature Film-Comedy
Rating: PG
Release Date: 20-DEC-2005
Media Type: DVD
Anything can happen on a snow day. So it's too bad the winter's been unseasonably warm, and there's nothing that Chevy Chase--weatherman and father of three--can do about it. But what if it miraculously snowed enough to close the school? Perhaps the oldest son would have a chance to date the most popular girl in school, his sister might have more time to play with him, their mother would act more like a mom and less like a workaholic, and Chase might even be given the chance to be a respected meteorologist who didn't have to wear stupid costumes on the TV news. When the snow does fall, these dreams slowly transform into reality, of course. There are no big surprises in Snow Day, and children will enjoy its genial jokes and good-natured slapstick. Adults may get a kick out of Iggy Pop's portrayal of an ice rink manager who plays nothing but wonderfully unpopular Al Martino songs. Chris Elliott (Get a Life) also has a small role as "the creepy guy with a plow" who, because he plows the streets, is the enemy of snow day lovers everywhere. Ultimately, Snow Day is predicable family fluff. --Andy Spletzer
