DVD Review: Trower is awesome, band is tight, sound is awesome but...
Summary: 3 Stars
the reason this gets only 3 stars is Trower is pushing his new album Living Out of Time heavily into this setlist. I love the album, but c'mon man, only 4 classic era songs? Davey Pattison is a godsend to have in the band, like the ghost of James Dewar possess this man, and you can't squeeze all of the Bridge of Sighs album (7 tracks!) into the show...a great show bogged down by too many new songs and not enough of the old. I first heard Robin Trower back in the seventies and fell in love with his music,especially the song Bridge of Sighs.. The tone of his guitar is incredible and he plays so well. In the DVD he shows us the feeling he has with his music and it is done so supreme. His band members are great too, doing what they do best. The singer sounds like Jack Bruce in some songs.
The quality of the film is first class along with the sound. I only wished it went for longer. But 105 minutes is enough .. I hear the Hendrix spirit coming out at times and this is fine as Hendrix still lives in our hearts and ears.. Buy this DVD and you will think that this guitar playing is far above the rest.. I wished he played more of his earlier music in it though..

To me this is the best Robin Trower has sounded as he is spot on every song and his guitar playing is just incredible for a live version especially Daydream,but the whole DVD is worth buying if you enjoy Trowers unique style and he is not a Hendrix copy as no one compares to him especially since they did not have the electronic technology back then but this is a MUST BUY as Trower has his own sound and any one who plays guitar will DEFINATELY enjoy this DVD LIVE !!!!!!!!!DVD Review: Very Dissapointed and boring.........

I have been a big fan of Robin Trower since the 70's....he still plays and sounds great, singing is just ok.............yet NO stage appearance or nor is there any electrifying stage experience in this video, Just kind of boring to watch , Save your money and download the digital album available for 10.00 on I-tunes much better......DVD Review: Robin Trower -- Classically Perfect

I was pleasantly surprised--yeah, even shocked--at Trower's near perfect delivery. This recording is like discovering classic Trower all over again. Beware: you may be tempted dawn headphones and blow some eardrums out. Simply put, a must-have. Save for Pink Floyd's PULSE, Trower's LIVING OUT OF TIME: LIVE is my favorite live DVD.

ASIDE: "Living Out of Time: LIVE", which is also issued in CD form, is NOT a live version of the studio CD "Living Out Of Time." That said, the latter ("Living Out Of Time") is a fantastic CD, saturated with classic Trower energy. I got the two confused, but I'm glad I did--I mistakenly wound up with both wonderful recordings.
