DVD Review: Great workout / Amazing preparation for childbirth! Summary: 5 StarsThis Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga DVD was one of my best pregnancy purchases. :)
I wanted to be "in training" during my pregnancy, as I was hoping for a natural childbirth. Unable to find prenatal classes that worked with my schedule, I listened to the numerous positive reviews for Jennifer Wolfe's videos, and I bought them during my first trimester.
My fitness background: I regularly use other ashtanga and vinyasa yoga videos, and I consider myself to be at an intermediate/advanced fitness level... probably intermediate when it comes to yoga.
I LOVED doing this video. I only had time to do this one once a weekend... the other days, I did either the 30 min or 45 min workout from the same instructor's "Short Forms" DVD. I used these videos for my entire pregnancy (all 42 weeks of it!) Jennifer's teaching style and cues are great- I found her really pleasant, calming, and easy to follow. I felt as though she knew exactly what my muscles were craving- my husband laughed at all of my "mmmmmms" and "ahhhhhs" while I was working out.
This workouts kept me sane and energetic. The modifications for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester were perfect for how I felt during each phase of my pregnancy. I definitely felt a big boost in my mental and physical state on days I did this video.
Obviously feeling good during pregnancy is important, but the strength this yoga training gave me during my childbirth experience was priceless. I did have my natural childbirth, complete with 6.5 hours of pushing. My (highly sought-after) OB now tells all of his patients to use Jennifer Wolfe's yoga DVDs. :)
DVD Review: I don't think she's ever been pregnant Summary: 1 StarsI really didn't like this DVD. I've done yoga for years, and am in very good shape. It is repetitive, boring, and doesn't seem like it's very well suited for pregnancy. She repeats a forward-leaning lunge series that just uncomfortable and (did I mention) boring. It would be fine if it was only one part of the practice, but it's throughout - over and over and over and over........ I did it once and I won't do it again.

DVD Review: MIxed feelings Summary: 3 StarsWell,I really don't know what to rate this product.
Sometimes during your pregnancy,you feel so tired heavy and out of shape so you try to follow this Dvd's excercises but you get so intimidated...they are not easy unless you used to do yoga before (which I was but not that often)and they are long...there are no breaks for a whole hour(of course you can pause the DVD and take a break but I prefer a smooth stop or break besides going through the hassel of forwarding and rewinding if u want to resume the excercise the next day).
On the other hand,some days especially when I started following this DVD on an almost daily basis..it became more fun and I felt the difference in my flexibility.
I do recommend this DVD but I just want to warn you not to push yourself in the beginning.
