Blu-ray Review: Only most of the story
Summary: 4 Stars
When this movie first came to the movie theaters way back when, it was rated NC-17. That is a rating between R and X. The people in charge figured it would not sell well with a NC-17 rating so they chopped a bunch of the movie out, gave it a R rating and put it on VHS tape. Most people have no clue that this was done. Numerous scenes were cut out entirely or shortened. The movie almost does not even make sense it skips around so much because of all the deleted scenes. Remember when Danny Glover found his friends necklace on a tree branch? They cut the scene of him getting killed totally out of the movie. In the beginning of the movie, they cut out a very large piece of film with the predator killing the whole gang of drug dealers, etc... It is a shame they had to ruin the best sci-fi horror film of that time period. The two scenes I mentioned are only two of many. They really did a hatchet job on this movie. If enough people call and write to the powers that be, maybe they would give us the UNRATED (original) version on DVD. The original gets a 5 out of 5. Robert Lee, Rochester, NY
