DVD Review: Breathing Techniques and Vipassana Meditation

Since the title of this DVD is Pranayama, I was expecting the entire DVD to be about breathing techniques, but it seems that more than half of this DVD is about meditation.
At the beginning of this DVD it says that this is an Advanced level and is continuation of the Basic video - while I haven't seen what is on the Basic video, the material on this DVD looked pretty basic to me.
DVD begins with few yoga stretches geared to facilitate comfort during longer meditations.
It continues with several breathing techniques - deep breathing, nostril breathing, bellows breathing, chest breathing, lion's breath and there is retained breath with mula bandha (root) lock. In the examples, you go through 2 - 5 cycles of each breath, which may be fine for instructional purposes, but to me it seemed rather short for practice. Generally when different instructors teach you different kinds of breathing they also mention what is each breathing technique designed for to accomplish, but on this DVD, for the most part you just run through techniques.
Breathing techniques are followed with Vipassana meditation - sometimes called "insight meditation", where you observe the thoughts which arise out of your subconscious, for the purpose of releasing (transforming them).
