DVD Review: Disappointing

I have the am/pm yoga video and really love it. I wanted something on DVD and went with this one because it had such great reviews. I was disappointed-the moves are very repetitive, I felt like I did one move over and over again for ten minutes. I did feel like it was a good workout, but was bored. I wish there was more variety in the moves. Other than that, I think Rodney Yee is great, and it was worth a try, but I don't think I'll be doing this workout too often.DVD Review: Power Yoga - Where's the Power?

I've bought this DVD expecting a challenging sequence of poses, similar to power yoga classes at my Yoga studio. However, that's not the case at all. The sequence on the DVD starts off with countless mountain poses and forward bends. Only slowly, more poses get added, such as downward and upward dogs, and warriors 1-3. At the height of the workout, my muscles were warmed up, but no sign of sweat. Then the strength part was over already, and the DVD continued with seated stretching poses. I'm disappointed, but luckily the DVD was not too expensive. For power yoga, I will go back to my studio.DVD Review: Good workout but lacking variety

After my employer canceled our power flow yoga class (because of budget cuts), I've been at loose ends, wishing for a comparable workout. I've tried our local yoga studio, and none of their classes gave me the same kind of fast-paced, heat-generating session that I enjoyed previously. The good news is that I found it in this video! I'm very pleased with the purchase, and would recommend this video to anyone who wants to build strength and flexibility.
To anyone wishing for a laid-back, meditation-type yoga, this is not the one for you.

A great yoga dvd. Rodney Yee is a perfect instructor on video. It's intense and gives a great work-out. I do sweat a whole lot after. This definitely brings relaxation to the mind, body and soul.
Description of Power Yoga - Total Body Workout
Power yoga "demands your attention," says instructor Rodney Yee. He leads a challenging, constantly progressing series of poses, one flowing into the next, integrating breath, movement, tension, and relaxation. The poses include Sun Salutation, standing poses, forward bends, back bends, twists, and arm balances. The first poses are fairly easy, and with each repetition of the series, Yee adds on more difficult movements, extending the series without pausing. You're encouraged to do as much of the series that fits your level, up to the entire 65-minute workout if you're an experienced yoga practitioner. Although you can begin at any level, some familiarity with yoga is recommended. The Hawaiian setting is gorgeous and inspiring. This is an excellent yoga workout that you can grow with, adding on more as you get stronger. --Joan PriceRodney Yee DVDs
