DVD Reviews of Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land: U.S. Media & the Israeli-Palestinian ConflictDVD Review: If you are concerned about world peace - buy this DVD. Summary: 4 StarsMeticulously put together. This powerful video demonstrates that there are still people walking the face of this earth who are willing to stand for truth and justice, regardless of their affiliations and association. It is a lesson for all persons who are struggling for humanity's upliftment. For those students who are in media studies, buy this video. Multiple text books cannot convey its potent lessons.
DVD Review: Watch this if you want to learn and understand Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great DVD production that explains very well and in a balanced (sometimes too soft) way what's really happening in Palestine and Israel and why we never hear of these things in the USA/Western media. It all boils down to PR; If the people in America knew what is actually going on in the middle east, citizens would remove their support for Israel immediately. So we have a media controlled by the industrial-military complex, big banking and Zionist/Jewish interests who cover the fact and deliberately lie to the people of the United States to avoid losing that support and continue with the genocide, expulsion, mistreatment, oppression, etc of the true semitic Palestine natives (there are currently NO LAWS or regulations requiring the Media/Communications to be "Fair and Balanced" in the USA).
This is the real reason why Arabs and Muslims hate the USA and "Western" World and the reason why most people do not understand where the hatred stems from.
Watch this film if you want to learn and understand.
Highly recommended to EVERYONE along with "Occupation 101 - Voices of the Silenced Majority (Documentary)".

DVD Review: The U.S. Media Serves Who? Summary: 5 StarsPeace, Propaganda & the Promised Land is a film every American needs to be made aware of and viewed. The film is that important. To the naive it will have a high WOW factor. To the more worldly it will confirm suspicions. While viewing the film it occurred to me that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict has a uncanny parallel to what the United States did to native Americans in the 19th and 20th century. The film exposes how the U.S. and Israeli governments brilliantly and systematically manipulates the U.S. media to sanitize the images and information that reaches the American public. If you can control the information and images the public has access to, you can shape and control to a certain extent what they think. There lies the danger of a cabal gaining control of the nation news and information gathering and disseminating apparatus. Can you say Rupert Murdoch boys and girls? The news media should be the fifth column for the public not the propaganda mouthpiece for the powerful and the rich. British journalist Robert Fisk politely put the failure of the U.S. media this way "the relationship between American journalist particularly television journalists and the centers of power has become incestuous."

Description of Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land: U.S. Media & the Israeli-Palestinian ConflictPeace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This pivotal documentary exposes how the foreign policy interests of American political elites--oil, and a need to have a secure military base in the region, among others--work in combination with Israeli public relations strategies to exercise a powerful influence over how news from the region is reported.
Through the voices of scholars, media critics, peace activists, religious figures, and Middle East experts, Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land carefully analyzes and explains how--through the use of language, framing and context--the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza remains hidden in the news media, and Israeli colonization of the occupied terrorities appears to be a defensive move rather than an offensive one. The documentary also explores the ways that U.S. journalists, for reasons ranging from intimidation to a lack of thorough investigation, have become complicit in carrying out Israel's PR campaign. At its core, the documentary raises questions about the ethics and role of journalism, and the relationship between media and politics.
