I received the North and the South - the Complete Collection. IT is a good quality product, and I enjoy what is there, however, there is a lot of the movie missing. It is advertised as the complete set, which includes all 3 books, but it lets out so much of the movie and drama, you miss much of the story lines. If it would not have been for seeing the movie beforehand, I would have been lost on much of the drama and stories of the individual characters. I think the advertising for the complete collection is very misleading, because of the omitted scenes. I would not recommend this to anyone! I will be cautious before I buy another movie from Amazon.com.

While reading through the reviews I've seen that many of you are missing parts and find this collection incomplete. I do not own this collection my self, I only got the first and second book, because I found the third to be very disappointing. Now after reading the reviews it made me curious, so I went ahead and checked how long my DVD collections are. Well, together the first and second book are 1080 minutes and I noticed the third book is 262 minutes (this makes 1342 minutes). The "Full collection" here with all three books is 1212 minutes, so knowing that, it's pretty simple to figure out that they must have left 130 minutes out (!!!!!!!). That's over two hours!!! Crazy! I am SOOOOOOOO glad I got the first and second book seperately, because I don't want any scenes missing. I don't understand why they do this to DVD collections, do they think the viewers won't notice? If you want the WHOLE thing, don't buy this collection, buy each book seperately.DVD Review: Pleased Customer!

My husband and I loved this epic when it came out on TV. We had it on videotape, but over the years the quality faded, so we jumped on the opportunity to buy the entire collection on DVD for Christmas last year. We watched it with our kids, so they would know where we got the idea for their first and middle names. We were crazy for Madeline and Orrie, a love story with so much patience, love and respect. A great trip down memory lane! A must if you are a fan of Patrick Swayze, especially now after his untimely demise.
