DVD Review: Nolan Ryan's Fastball Definitely Hits the Strike Zone

I just purchased this product for my 11 year old son hoping he could pick up some pitching techniques & insights from the greatest strike-out pitcher of all-time...the incomparable Nolan Ryan. This product definitely delivers. Nolan offers phenomenal advise, along with Tom House, on the mechanics of pitching a baseball. It's an interesting video in another sense due to the fact that Nolan & Tom offer advise to a young & upcoming pitcher named Randy Johnson (this DVD was made in 1993).
I was very pleased with the tips, advise, techniques that Nolan & Tom offer...it's just like attending a clinic...only better since you can view it repeatedly until you're able to absorb what they are teaching at your own pace.
Nolan Ryan was my favorite pitcher when I was growing up & now I can share his greatness with my son too. Who better to take advise from than a Hall of Fame pitcher who amassed 324 wins and a staggering 5,714 strikeouts.

I just purchased the Nolan Ryan DVD for pitching. It was ok. Nolan sounds like he's out of breath through pretty much the entire video and the other guy Tom House pretty much dogs Randy Johnson throughout. The mechanics were kinda hard to understand, and it was confusing as to if this was a TOM HOUSE Pitching video or Nolan Ryan. DVD Review: Great Video/DVD

I had this product for my three son's back in the mid 90's and it's the best technique I've ever seen in teaching young kids and even high school kids to save their arm and control their pitches. It help my three son's be so far ahead of their peers on the diamond and I used as a coach to help other kids improve on their pitching technique as well. Every pitching coach and young pitcher should watch this over and over again and learn from the best. DVD Review: Very Pleased!

We purchased this video for my 16 year old son. He pitches in High School. Last year he injured his arm and had to sit out for awhile. This tape showed us the "bad" habits my son has and helped us to improve. We are hoping he will apply the techniques in the coming years. Thanks! If you want to pitch or learn about the mechanics of it...this is a terrific video. Nolan is very open and knowledgable...I never figured him for a "thinker" assuming he was just pure talent...WRONG...he is thoughtful and hard working its no wonder he was the best.
