Since I was an early adopter, no guides for the D300 were yet available. I find that I do much better with video training being a visual person. One can hold the camera and stop the DVD and repeat if needed. Both presenters were clear and helpful, complementary to each other. I come back to this DVD from time to time, refreshing knowledge about certain features. Well worth the money!DVD Review: OK Video. Not a Top Notch Production

I am an intermediate level photographer and I guess anyone with a D300 would at least be on the same level or better. All I can say about these videos is that half way thru the first disc, I fell asleep. I returned to watch the rest of it a couple of weeks later. I didn't even make it all the way thru the second disc. I am more of a technical person and I found the owner's manual more interesting than this 2 disc set. Really. I ended up selling the discs used on eBay to recoup some money. I can't really recommend this at all. If your completely new to photography you may be able to grasp some of the concepts in this video. If your more advanced you will probably just find this boring and a rehash of the information in the owner's manual albeit with some amateur tips thrown in here and there. There is a lot of content but it is not well organized and is poorly presented. I think this was a quickly produced video to grab some quick sales on a new model camera with all the hype and attention that a great new model generates.DVD Review: Get a manicurist!

These two guys are in sorry need of a manicurist -- or at least a better video editor, if they are gonna share close-ups of their very unmanicured nails flipping dials and switches.
This is an ok guide to learning the D300, but it borrows heavily from their earlier Nikon product videos. And they are so haphazard in filming and editing, it looks more like a fractured fairy tale version rather than a serious explanation of a very sophisticated camera.
And the owner (the one prone to wearing funny hats and making hysterically inappropriate analogies,) should stick to the back office and leave the 'esplaining' to the bearded guy.
Thom Hogan's guides for Nikon are much more informative, and also cheaper!
DVD Review: It is OK but expensive

I was expecting more professional video. Something more than a visual quick guide. For example there is an entire chapter for how to install the strap. I would prefer longer chapters for metering, white balancing, picture control, etc. It is very at the surface no deep dives to important topics. Therefore it is not what I would pay for that much if I knew a bit more about the content prior to the purchase. I expect Nikon to prepare an original video for D300.
