DVD Review: Very Good, but could've been so much more...
Summary: 4 Stars
First off, let me say that any Bills fan will love this! As will any fan of great football.
HOWEVER, here is the one problem with this dvd.... it doesn't have the half-time or post-game shows! That might sound silly, but I am lucky enough to have the original broadcast on VHS tape (my aunt, who lived in Florida at the time, taped the game for me), and I can honestly say that some of the best moments are during halftime when Bob Costas and crew are completely writing off the Bills, even going so far as to discuss the matchup the following week between the Oilers and the Steelers! They even announced (with dueling helmet graphics and everything! lol) that the game would be seen on NBC the following week! LOL
Only Boomer Esiason, who was a guest analyst at the desk for the playoffs, went out on a limb predicting that Reich would bring the Bills back from the brink (he and Reich were teammates when Reich had led his Maryland team to what eneded up being the greatest college comback of all time, at least at that time). The other analysts literally laughed at him (playfully of course, all in good fun).... and then to go to the post game remarks by Bob Costas and all those guys is particularly priceless. Their reactions were all awesome as they were all completely shocked/speechless.
Sometimes, I will go right to the halftime show and just watch that. I think that NFL films couldve easily put that and the post game shows on the dvd.... it was probably only a combined 15 minutes of airtime, but to me, it just adds that much more.
Other than that, this is a solid addition to any football fans collection.
