DVD Review: Utter Waste of Money - Absolute Trash

This abomination was produced by paranoids who assumed that everyone who bought one was going to distribute it over the Internet. All video is mutilated with copyright and source info at the top and frequently at the bottom of the screen. It is also cut off - not re-proportioned - just cut off - on the top and bottom, presumably to give a faux widescreen look, with all the meaningful impact of those color lenses you heard about people buying in the fifties for their black and white TVs. On top of that, the videos are mostly shrunk down so you can also look at the decidedly unsightly mugs of the "reviewers." It is completely unwatchable. The narrations come from nobodies, hangers-on and self appointed experts, with nothing from the band itself (at least in what I could stand to watch). If you think the liner notes in the lp version of Great Lost Kinks Album were annoying, you ain't seen nothing until you view this triumph of labeling over substance. Had I known what was on this, I wouldn't have bought it for a penny. You'd have to offer me at least $20 to take it off your hands - it is really, truly that bad. Presumably, and hopefully, a sophisticated Kinks fan has enough common sense to perceive a parasitic ripoff without being blinded by their love for the band. Learn from the victimization of others - do not buy this for any reason.
