DVD Reviews of Mr. Bean - The Whole Bean (Complete Set)DVD Review: It's a 3 DVD Pack with hours of brilliant comedy... Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great 3 DVD package with most of the best Mr Bean episodes.
Very good value. Unfortunately as these episodes were produced some years ago, it's a full
screen version and I'm not aware as if there is a widescreen version out there.
But in any case this is not very important in this kind of comedy films.
Perfect choice if you don't own any Mr Bean DVD and want to start your collection.
DVD Review: Funny Bean Summary: 5 StarsI just love the humor from this series.Mr.bean always gets a laugh out of me.
It's a pity some scenes have been cut,why they do that who knows.
One of the funniest moments was when he was packing the suit case, first time i saw that i was almost on the floor laughing.Cuts the trousers, then picks up the shorts, squezes out the tooth paste,my god what a clown. Those facial expressions realy crack me up also.I also like the one when he gave the kid a hair cut, great hair style,he had a happy customer. It was also funny when he went diving, and the kid stomped on his hand. The turkey on his head, man that was funny stuff. It was also funny the time he got locked out of the appartment with no clothes,he covered his private parts up with those sighns.Wasn't he devistated when that tank ran over his car, poor Mr.Bean.
DVD Review: The over laughing of the audience track ruins it for me. Summary: 3 StarsThe most distracting thing about this dvd set is the audience over-laughter on every single little thing Bean does. It becomes highly annoying. Every thing Bean does results in almost a standing ovation from the audience. You can hear this audience coughing, breathing, and waiting on his every move to burst out in the loudest laughter over things that should NOT be funny. Mr. Bean is very funny to me but everything is funny to this audience. There's not more than a few seconds between roaring laughter. The volume of the audience is also so loud that it dominates each show and becomes the focal point. Each show is out on location somewhere and not filmed in a studio so this laugh track must have been inserted over each show. I would much rather see Bean the movie where I can enjoy watching him in peace. The audience over-laughter ruins the tv show for me.
DVD Review: Hilarious but...... Summary: 4 StarsThis Mr. Bean DVD set is absolutely hilarious. I promise you will laugh so hard your sides will hurt. However, be aware that there are some scenes in a handfull of the skits that you may find inappropriate for young children. Scenes like his being completely naked, from behind, at the swimming pool. Or when he is trying to adjust his tuxedo before meeting the queen and his finger ends up protruding through his zipper from inside his pants. You can imagine what that looks like. It's all done in fun but the visual image can be quite shocking for children, at least in the US.
DVD Review: Funny,Funny,Funny Summary: 5 StarsWorth the $$$ We got alot of laughs from this box set. We also purchased Mr Beans Holiday, another funny movie. AAA+ We also purchased the Thin Blue Line box set, Another Rowan Atkinson show and loved it.

Description of Mr. Bean - The Whole Bean (Complete Set)He captured the hearts of millions of viewers worldwide. His movie grossed nearly a quarter of a billion dollars worldwide. He's been called the most embarrassing man on the planet. Now the entire Mr. Bean series, the British comic phenomenon created by Rowan Atkinson (Blackadder, Four Weddings and a Funeral), is finally available in one complete package. Bean, Bean, maniacal nut / The more you watch, you bust a gut! First unleashed in 1989, this sketch series was embraced by PBS viewers in the United States. In the tradition of the great silent clowns, Rowan Atkinson created a character with universal and multi-generational appeal (the sketches have little dialogue and are driven by often ingenious physical comedy). Like Bart Simpson, the resourceful, mischievous, and sometimes malevolent Bean is the inner child incarnate who acts on the impulses polite society normally represses. Atkinson has described Bean as "a 9-year-old boy, with an apparent lack of worldly experience, but an ingenuity that is quite clever in dealing with problems presented to him." These problems include not knowing a single answer on an exam, tactfully disposing of a revolting restaurant meal, changing into his swimsuit at the beach without first removing his pants, and, most hilariously, getting a turkey stuck on his head (a classic bit reprised in the ill-conceived 1997 feature film). Atkinson has enjoyed some mainstream success stateside. He was the nervous minister ("...your awfully wedded wife") in Four Weddings and a Funeral, and the voice of Zazu in The Lion King. But he mainly enjoys cult status among British comedy aficionados as a founding member of Not the Nine O'Clock News and the star of the Black Adder series. Bean is his crowning creation. In addition to all 14 episodes, this generous boxed set contains previously unaired sketches, Comic Relief appearances, and a segment about Bean's creation, which serves as a nifty introduction for the uninitiated. It also contains a preview for the new Mr. Bean animated series. This seems redundant. As this collection hilariously demonstrates, Bean is already animated enough. --Donald Liebenson
