DVD Review: Get it while you can!
Summary: 5 Stars

Get this while it is still available! It is everything other reviewers said, and more. I even liked the docu-drama treatment of Freddie's early life, chlld actors and all. The commentary contributions by friends, family, and professional associates are great. The music videos are wonderful!

DVD Review: WE are both LOVERS OF LIFE

It was too wierd to see this title while looking for Queen DVDs. Only learned about the band Queen when hearing about Freddie Mercury's death. Then I learned about all of the songs that Queen had done and I had heard over the years but had no clue. I've been collecting Queen items since. Love the title, love the songs and so miss Freddie.

Heartbreaking story, more effectively portrayed in the original version. He was a good man and a powerful musician...still sorely missed by all who knew him and many who did not.
This version does not include as much of his music as the original which, unfortunately, is no longer in print.

DVD Review: Touching in every sense...
Summary: 5 Stars

I also watch this and found the beginning to drag a bit and inform me of fairly basic aspects of the man who would eventually become the greatest stage performer of all time. As one of the the most private persons of our lives, any insight may prove useful. I have read and been told of many biographies that make larger than life people come across as bitter and unlikable individuals. Freddie (through the friends that share with us) has been made into one of the most caring and loved individuals. This story begins as a journey through his life and culminates with those who were nearest to him in the end. If you want music, buy one of the 17 cd's (15 Queen, 2 personal) he was part of. Or even better, get the 1986 Queen Wembley Tour DVD or 1985 Live Aid if you want to see him perform. If you want to know the man, watch this and relish in what is still hidden from many out there.

DVD Review: Could of Been Better

The first half of this video was boring. They use a child actor to play Freddie, and follow him around Zanzibar to places that Freddie frequented. Why do we need to see where Freddie sat for a picture, or a bunch of actors in a band play the song 'Diana'? It does not get interesting until Freddie moves to England. The interviews with Mary Austin and Freddie's Mum is interesting. On the second disc there is a very long and boring interview with the person who builds a statue of Freddie. The person knows hardly anything about Freddie, and never even mentions meeting Freddie. I found the interview with the artist a waste of time. The second disc also contains some of Freddie's single videos. This is the best part of this 2 disc set. It's worth the price just to own the music videos. I probably will never watch the rest of this DVD again. I have seen much better about the history of Queen and Freddie Mercury.
