Loretta is a must have for those who want to share with groups who suffer from stress and burnout. Also, good at home if you are suffering the same. Some find her to be less than funny, but most people laugh and understand the message. It's a wonderful teaching tool and Loretta is a break from the traditional teaching style. This is the third special that Loretta LaRoche taped for PBS pledge breaks. LaRoche specializes in using humor to deal with stress. Finding the humor in stressful events can make them seem less stressful. Her first special "The Joy of Stress" is the best of the three; this special seems to me to be the weakest of the three, with sing-alongs bogging things down. However, she still makes some good points, and humor abounds. If you need a laugh break to de-stress, check out LaRoche!!

Loretta LaRoche of The Joy of Stress is back and begging the question How Serious Is This? It's an insatiably humorous special that puts life in perspective and provides simple rules to live by. Getting down to the nitty-gritty Loretta examines the irrational and exaggerated patterns of thinking that drive us all nuts: The Awfulizer and Catastrophizer the individual with an incessant need to blow lfe's smallest events out of proportion; the Mind Reader who has a perceived ability to predict suffering -- and of course there's always the Baggage Handler who carries around the ball and chain of life's past events. Loretta also helps us find the path to "the joy of living." Letting loose viewers will move and a-groove through some practical exercises - everything from how to breathe "the right way" -- to exaggeration therapy a technique for examining life's worries and seeing how quickly they can be moved from the sublime to the ridiculous.Loretta LaRoche works with the Mind Body Medical Institute which is affiliated with CareGroup and Harvard Medical Schools.
