DVD Review: EXCELLENT 1978 VINTAGE BLONDIE PERFORMING ON A GERMAN TV SHOW!!! (DVD)

This is a great DVD of "early" Blondie. Debbie is fantastic, and so is the band. This dvd contains some of their early songs. Debbie is a fantastic performer, and this dvd proves it!!! I just wish it was longer, but anything from Blondie is great!!! The approx. run time is only about 30 minutes or so, but every minute is very good. If you like Blondie, you'll like this DVD. I saw a lot of concerts in my younger days - front row at Springsteen's 1st tour, Dire Straits' 1st U.S. tour, etc. - and many others - and now I wish I had seen this band.
YouTube did it for me; when I saw the energy and excellence of the great Deborah Harry I realized that my negative view of Blondie in 1978-1982 was my own stupid mistake.
Oh well, I am now a Blondie junkie and this DVD, which is a complete "set" of 11 of their early songs with all the transitions - IOW, they play straight thru - is the real deal. Yeah, I guess you could say that they went on to bigger and better things but if you like to study the craft of rock 'n roll you will not beat this IMO.
And fellas, I gotta tell you, your wife or girlfriend probably won't like this... It's the shirt I think ;^)

DVD Review: Not so parallel lines

Late in life I became a Blondie fan. The punk sound of early 1980 was
part of my own life. I listened and went to live shows by The Damned,
Buzzcocks, Squeeze, XTC, Elvis Costello - to name a few. But never
Blondie. In those days so many people slagged them off. Yes Debbie
Harry was a looker, but the band??
And over a period of years I slowly collected a few CD's and Vinyl
records. Their music sounds so good, especially the back beat.(Nigel
Harrison, Clem Burke.)
My copy of Blondie 1978 arrived a week ago. It is only 30 mins. long
and is part of a series of DVD's released by Radio Bremen (Germany)
that includes T Rex, and Roxy Music.
The sound is not sophisticated and Chris Stein makes a few mistakes
on lead guitar. Jimmy Destri is ultra serious on keyboards.
I think the overall performance is poor. The only merit is : "Its
vintage Blondie." And that would be it.
Meanwhile I think I will bop around to Eat to the Beat.

Tough, tight and together, future success assured. This is the "Shea Stadium"-like glance of Blondie greatness, before they got bogged down by commercialism. This is absolutely the best video of any group I have ever seen, period! I have lent this DVD to young bands just to inspire them! This is the one video which shows Blondie at it's absolute best, and will be immortilized forever! The Video and Audio quality is also unbelieveble for it's time.
