I am a beginner adult Irish dancer. I've been dancing Scottish Highland for about 9 years. I've been trying to catch up with the more advanced Irish dancers in my group and was looking for some technique instruction. Jean is a very encouraging instructor and gives you some very basic movements up to more advanced movements. You can put your DVD player in slow motion to "get it", or you can just repeat it. At the beginning of her instruction there is a good warm-up routine. I first rented this from "Netflix" to see what it was like before I bought it.DVD Review: Read the Title

I am an intermediate irish dancer and i bought this video to help me practice, because i get bored practicing by myself. It was a fun workout, and I appreciated that there was core work and stretching to round it out. However, I was lost on a lot of the advanced hardshoe work that was not clearly explained. I definitely would not recommend this video for someone with little or no irish dance experience. The video teaches no dances, just a lot of drills. This is perfect for me, but for people who don't go to an actual irish dance class, it wouldn't really teach much actual dancing. DVD Review: Terrific instructional

Got this for my 13-year-old daughter who is just crazy about step dancing. She loves it. The menu has a big range of movements to try out. Most is hard shoe. Some warm up. Most are done with 3 or more dancers, all dressed in black, starting slow and building. There was a lot more content in this DVD than expected. Easy to navigate menu, wholesome, beautiful set, and well narrated by Jean Butler. A perfect gift for a budding novice dancer or an experienced teen dancer.
