DVD Reviews of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Seasons 1 & 2DVD Review: It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia - Season 1-2 Summary: 5 StarsAbsolutely hilarious! This is one of the funniest shows on television, yet it doesn't receive the attention it should. The premise of the show is incredible; these group of friends/ family, who are the most cynical and narcissistic people, come up with insane ideas, which they think are brilliant and act them out. Plus with the bonus features you can watch the outtakes which are equally hilarious, and see some parts of the show which weren't scripted (Rock, Flag, and Eagle). A MUCH WATCH - 5 STARS - ENJOY!
DVD Review: Best show in the history of television! Summary: 5 StarsBuy this DVD set. Best show in the history of TV. The fourth season starts in September 2008, so you should get crackin' on watching these episodes. If you're like me, you will find yourself watching these episodes over and over. If you like Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Concords and Arrested Development, I guarantee you will LOVE this show.
DVD Review: Rock, flag, and eagle!!! Summary: 5 StarsIt's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is,without a doubt, the funniest show on television. This is one of those shows where you can watch an episode over and over and still laugh as hard as you did the first time you watched it. A lot of shows worry about being "Politically Correct" and offending people, but with Sunny, hell yeah it's offensive, but that's what makes it so incredibly funny. Charlie Day's freak outs are alone worth the price of the DVD set. (Watch Hundred Dollar Baby to see what I mean).
DVD Review: Have a drink at Paddy's Summary: 5 StarsI stumbled across this show on the Amazon website and purchased the DVD set after reading some of the reviews. After watching a couple of episodes, I was glad I bought it. It has elements of Seinfeld and Drew Carey and lots of political incorrectness. Fans of The Simpsons, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Ali G/Borat will probably appreciate the humour.
While running Paddy's Bar in Philadelphia, this group of 30 year olds? tackles a different social issue in each episode. Issues include underage drinking, gun ownership, abortion etc. Unfortunately, these still young adults are incapable of learning about life without making some big mistakes along the way, and the results are hilarious. I'm looking forward to seeing season three.
DVD Review: Amazing Comedy Summary: 5 StarsMy husband and I love this show, I would definitely say it is our favorite thing on TV. The cast is wonderful and they are great at improvization (see special features). My favorite episode has got to be the first one I ever watched, the one where Dee and Dennis try to go on welfare, and decide the best way to do that is to start smoking crack.
The show is crass, dark, and irreverent. The banter between the characters on the show is always really good, and the story-lines are so ridiculous (in a good way). If you are wondering what all the fuss is about, buy it! I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.
Description of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Seasons 1 & 2Three best friends own a Irish Pub in Phili and get into sticky situations resulting from bad judgment.System Requirements:Running Time: 425 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS Rating: NR UPC: 024543444169 Manufacturer No: 2244416 Take the best elements from Seinfeld and Arrested Development and you have It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Combining the social-degenerate-buddy formula (three men, one woman) with the beyond-dysfunctional-family element, Philadelphia creates scenarios that are so hysterical, wrong, appalling, familiar, embarrassing, uncomfortable, and entertaining, the show is addictive like staring at a car wreck when you know you shouldn't, but you just can't look away; it's invigorating like a fresh, loud, wake-up slap on the face. The writing, the quick timing, and the performances are so natural, one wonders if anyone is even acting (but hopes to heaven they are). Danny DeVito joined the cast in the second season, in one of the best roles on TV. DeVito is "Frank," the buddy dad that just wants to be part of the gang, the dad that looks good on paper, but the experience for his kids is more like taking care of a vicious dog that isn't potty-trained. Three of his four talented cohorts (Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, and Rob McElhenney) not only star in the series, but write it as well. Thanks to their new take on old themes and a willingness to stretch the boundaries of appropriateness and exploit the audiences' inner insecurities, originality is back on TV.--Rachel Moss Beyond It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Groundbreaking TV: Arrested Development | Fox TV Store | More from Danny DeVito |
