DVD Review: No substitute for a real-life instructor

There isn't much I can say other reviewers haven't - it's not the absolute best for instruction (sometimes she wears black in front of a dark background; her variations on basic moves aren't explained), but it is a good focus for someone who has a bare-bones knowledge of some of the moves and wants to see some practical application of how they can be combined.
The only thing about the DVD is that the chapter breaks are *not* at the beginning of each move, so you have to use the 'rewind' function rather than the 'skip' function. Other than that, it's well-organized and she is a competent bellydancer.

This is a great set for any bellydancer to have in their library. Jillina takes you on a fast paced instruction and by the end of the DVD, you've learned awesome choreography to an entire song! After you've learned the choreography, you get to watch Jillina perform it in front of a live audience.
This is a great set for someone who learns quickly or someone looking to push themselves into becoming a quick learner. This may not be the best choice for absolute begginners because of the pace. You might want to start out with classes at a studio.
The quality of this DVD ,visually, is great.The picture is clear and the angles are perfect. Jillina is standing in front of a mirror so you can see her move from all angles and there is no guessing as to which foot you should be on.
Jillina's graceful movements make her a fantastic example to follow. I am very pleased with my purchase and would reccomend this to all my bellydancing friends!
DVD Review: Excellent, but maybe not for beginners

I've been bellydancing for a while before I finally found these videos, and she introduced some new moves to me, she does go through the moves a little fast, but these dvds weren't really made for a beginner with no experience in the moves at all...these moves are all shown for her dance choreography. She shows you steps in doing her dance that you will learn at the end, and for helping you out in making a dance choreography of your own for your dance. I really love all of her dances on all 3 DVDS. I would really recommend them!DVD Review: Everything is wrong with this product

Instruction:
Not deep and sometimes unclear. Some of the moves included in choreography are not explained at all.
Drilling:
None! As many reviewers pointed out, you have to constantly rewind, as each move is demonstrated only a few times. You'll end up spending more time rewinding than practicing.
Choreography:
First of all, in the absence of proper instruction and drilling, it is pointless. Secondly, for quick learners and imaginative dancers, her routines are neither challenging nor cute.
Technique:
I have to note that Jillina is not a very gifted dancer. I find her rather rigid compared to many other bellydancers I've seen, including some that are not famous (yet). Her Egyptian shimmy is downright poor.
Filming:
Will make you nauseous, since the camera was handheld. The "sliding" transitions between sections make it even worse. Most of the time you have to watch Jillina's back, which is quite frustrating, as naturally one tends to pay more attention to the front. In addition, the position of the camera makes her look short-legged. The lighting level is too low, considering Jillina's dark outfit.
DVD Review: Great detailed instruction for dance routine

Jillina teaches you the routine she shows you, step by step, one at a time slowly in front of a mirror, then normal speed & repeating moves she's already taught you to get practice. She's a beautiful dancer, clear voice, simple teaching, no fake smiling during. There's a trailer at collagevideo for yourself for each of her 3 dvds.
Yes, the lighting could be better & camerawork. I also do recomend this not be your first bellydance dvd & try Neena & Veena first to get down the basics before attempting a routine.
