DVD Review: hilarious movie. extras are clever.

movie is obviously funny -- its harold n kumar. something i have never seen before is featured as an extra on here. you can switch to alternate scenes while watching the movie; change from bottomless party to topless party, for example. bottomless was definitely the way to go though -- good job with that, whoever made the call. most of the boobs are blatant implants, lol.DVD Review: Cho and Penn are a great and funny .I can't wait for there next movie

I'm shocked how funny this film is.The best part is when Harold and Kumar are at Guantanamo Bay.I've never laughted so hard
This movie is an adventure,with the guys going from one mishape to another,and ending up at George W.Bush's house.I have to mention Neil Patrick Harris who is fantastic.
I would love to give this film 5 stars,but its not for everyone.

Harold and Kumar and Guantanamo Bay, go figure. This particular type of humor ends up being good for laughs. I find it would be hard to take offense because it's well...funny. The story line follows the similar "oops" as when Harold and Kumar romped their way to White Castle. Neil Patrick Harris (NPH) delivers another off the wall gem of a performance.

This film pretty much starts where the first film leaves off, but this time the story takes the two pot smoking goofballs on a journey to Amsterdam....or at least it starts out that way! Not quite as good as the original, but as sequels go, this is pretty fun if your in the right frame of mind.
The unrated DVD release has two versions of the film, but I only watched the rated version so far. It's hard to believe the unrated version could be any more raunchy or have more nudity in it?! This film is crude at times, but I'm sure fans of this series know what to expect.

Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo marks the triumphant return of these two hilarious, slacker anti-heroes. The movie stars John Cho as Harold and Kal Penn as Kumar, two stoners who can't seem to get a break. Their last adventure found them traveling across country to find a White Castle hamburger in order to satisfy a weed-induced case of "the munchies." This time, the boys get themselves in trouble trying to sneak a bong onboard a flight to Amsterdam. Now, being suspected of terrorism, they are forced to run from the law and try to find a way to prove their innocence. What follows is an irreverent and epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip around the world that is as "un-PC" as it gets.Beginning precisely where Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle left off, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay takes the film franchise in a more boorish and spuriously topical direction. Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) take an ill-fated flight to Amsterdam, during which Kumar's suspicious-looking bong is mistaken for a bomb. Their arrest prompts a wild-eyed, racist Homeland Security nut (Rob Corddry) to send the boys to indefinite lockup at Guantanamo Bay, where beefy guards sexually subjugate "enemy combatants." The duo manage to get away and make it back to the U.S., hoping the well-connected fiance (Eric Winter) of Kumar's old girlfriend, Vanessa (Danneel Harris), can get them out of their mess. During a dangerous and grotesque odyssey to Texas (where Vanessa is marrying her rich and vain boyfriend, much to Kumar's dismay), Harold and Kumar have episodic encounters with the Ku Klux Klan, a one-eyed, inbred monster, and old friend Neil Patrick Harris (as himself), who swallows fistfuls of magic mushrooms and drags the boys to a brothel stop that goes terribly wrong.
The desultory comedy strikes a lowbrow tone from its opening scene (Harold takes a shower while Kumar has a diarrhea attack) and doesn't get much more interesting than that. If there's a bodily fluid that doesn't rate a joke in Guantanamo Bay, it doesn't exist. The persistent sight gags about weed (including a smoky visit with President Bush) never reach the kind of giddy pitch that pot humor requires, leaving a lot of the film's comedy just hanging like dead space. The sequel's attempt to say something, albeit in a gross way, about the state of the country during the Bush years is obvious and empty. Really, there isn't a lot of reason for Guantanamo Bay to have been made, except to print money. --Tom Keogh
