DVD Review: Of a kind: The best Dead video released so far

Yes, yes ... yes. I've been to Dead concerts, bought too many vinyls and CDs and t-shirts ... This DVD is definitive. All are at the top, playing as well as any other concert, ever. If you are not a total Dead fan, get this one, its the keeper. If you are a total Dead head, get this one, it will be your favorite.

Audio post production is very, very good (set to 24bit/48k stereo). Video is as good as any (set to 4/3 pan & scan). The first three tracks are not polished as Jerry comes off his meds and the rest of the band acts leaderless ... until ... until ... But, then the fun begins and the group does come together and clicks, then rocks ... There is nothing like it ... there is nothing like a Grateful Dead Concert and this was and is one of the best.

If you want to really get hooked on the Dead (again), play the last five tracks first ... then start over at the beginning.

I consider myself a Deadfan & realist. This is a good solid show- no regrets on the purchase at all. I have most of their DVDs and VHS's and this is right in there... while I did not go to this show, it is a solid representation of what the good late '80s shows were like. 'Downhill From Here' is my favorite, but I was at those shows too- so take it for whatever its worth.

For those who just can't get enough- splurge and make the purchase!
