DVD Review: Sheer Genious!

This is an awesome music DVD! Especially because it is one of the best bands ever...Gorillaz! If you enjoy Gorillaz i recommend you go out and buy this. It has the Clint Eastwood music video for one and others. But what i like is how the two creators of this band are interviewed.

There is also two live gorillaz concert clips that are pretty cool. And i like the dvd itself, the way you navigate in the menus. Just go buy it!

I would give this five stars; but the songs on the DVD are the "clean" versions... It's great to see the videos; but the censorship ruins the whole experience. I would like to give it zero stars; but I will settle for one.

DVD Review: Where are the Gorillaz?

Even though this is a rather ingenious music dvd, what I had really wanted to see was the group perform. I saw them on TV recently at the Manchester Symphony Hall and loved the show. That's what prompted me to buy this dvd but, sadly, it is all animation.....not something I really like. Their music, however, is still fantastic, but it is hard to navigate through this creative, cartoon dvd.

This would be a 5 star release if it weren't for the maddening and terribly frustrating navigation. Instead of a straight forward menu there are cutesy icons pointing the way to various "rooms" which again are full of more icons and hidden extras. You just never know what you're gonna get, until you watch it enough to commit the icons to memory. And, really, who has time for all that ?? Pop music and pop music videos should be fun to listen to and watch, and this is just far too much work.
