DVD Review: Lost his voice??? NO WAY!!!

This DVD was released prematurely without the approval of Gary Puckett because of sound problems which were supposed to be remedied prior to release & for that reason, I've refrained from reviewing it until now. However, in view of the first two reviews, I could no longer remain silent.
That being said, I LOVE this DVD!! Gary hasn't lost his voice at all...it's gotten better over the years! People's voices do change and mature as they get older, & it's very unrealistic to expect a singer to sing a song at age 62 the same way he sang it at age 25. Gary's voice has gotten deeper & richer over the years & he's adapted his hits to conform to the voice he has now. Although I enjoy listening to his early releases, it's his later work I really enjoy, particularly his live performances. He can still hit falsetto notes flawlessly & he can hold notes longer than most singers I know. He sings with much more expression & passion now than he did in his 20's, & much of that can be attributed to life experience. Gary also does all the right things in terms of taking care of his voice; i.e., he drinks plenty of water before, during & after a performance, he eats properly, he goes through a series of vocal warm-up exercises before a performance, & he rests his voice as much as he can before a performance. How do I know this? I'm a singer myself, & any vocal coach worth his or her salt would make these exact recommendations to any singer wanting to preserve and protect his or her voice.
I believe this DVD is a must-have for any Gary Puckett aficionado. He sings all his hits, plus other songs he's covered over the years, & it's readily apparent that he's a hit with the audience. The interview portions are absolutely first rate! Anyone wanting to know what makes Gary Puckett tick will find out by watching the interview. I've had the pleasure of meeting him & spending a little time with him, & what you see is what you get. He's warm, sincere, & genuine, & his fans are very important to him. He's one of the "good guys" in a business that seems to bring out the worst in some people, & I hope he'll be performing for many years to come.
