DVD Reviews of Family Guy, Vol. 6DVD Review: Great show, but stupid Politically Summary: 3 StarsOkay, I love Family guy, watching all the antics involved and all the funny moments, but what really keeps this season from 5 stars is the intervention of left-wing BS into the show. I know that hollywood is infused with stupid left-wing nutjobs who seem to want to get their worthless points across, even though it has nothing to do with Family Guy. It can run fine without these stupid interjections of GWB was an idiot, Texas is socially backwards, shooting GWB picture a million times, etc. Here we have Brian, the leftist liberal dog. If he was mine, I'd put him down.
Personally, Liberals are the scum of the earth. Keep the poiltics off popular TV series. They tend to survive longer that way.
DVD Review: Family Guy, Volume Six Summary: 4 StarsFamily Guy is one of the most hilarious shows on television. Although, now, it seems that the jokes get more and more annoying. The show, however is great.
Fox has recently done away with the Boxed Sets of all their television releases. Now they are slim, storybook like casings.
I purchased this off E-Bay just so that I could get the boxed set.
THE BOXSET:
This boxed set is the one that was made the nicest. On the outside it has a nice slip cover where you can see the Griffin family through a small plastic window. On the backside you get the usual description telling the number of episodes and features, and such.
When you take the slip cover off you see the full picture of the Griffin family. Only, it has many other characters from the Family Guy Universe on it. On the Backside there is a picture of Stewie and Brian together. Inside this case there are three separate DVD cases. All thre share the same theme as "GRIFFIN VS." On the backside of these separate casing you get episode descriptions and airdates.
Volume Six only has 12 episodes in this set: The remaining five episodes of Season Five and episodes 2-7 from Season Six. (Episode 1 was "Blue Harvest" and was not included due to the fact that it was released at the same time as this DVD set)
The episodes come with commentary and an optional TV version audio track. The default track is Unrated.
THE NEW SET:
What you get now is completely different. Now you recieve a thin regular DVD case. Now special slip cover. And no seperate cases. The cover is the Griffins and other characters. The back has the description and features. The inside you just get the three discs with the same artwork on top, but you just get episode lists with no descriptions.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
If you don't care what type of casing you recieve, then go ahead and order from here. Or you can just go to any store. If you would prefer the boxed set, check E-Bay or [...].
This Volume actually has the, what I think, best episodes of the entire series.
The remaining 4 episodes of Season Six are included in the Volume Seven DVD set.
I give this set 4 out of 5 stars.
4 Only because of how now you only get the cheap thin plastic DVD case which doesn't match previous box sets.
DVD Review: Not A Good Volume Summary: 2 StarsFirst lets start with some good news. Volume 7 is way funnier and it seems that they got their spark back. Volume 6 has all the episodes TBS and Adult Swim replay over and over, so without knowing before I bought this I already was bored with those episodes.
When it comes down to it Volume 6 (why not do seasons?) is repetitive, boring, unoriginal, and just not that funny. The bonus features are the best attribute sadly. Only get it if you are a die hard fan.
I personally think American Dad is funnier, but I know a lot of people would disagree, but I digress.
DVD Review: Great Dvd Collection! Summary: 5 StarsGreat collection of the funniest show on tv! I recommend this dvd for any Family Guy fan!
DVD Review: Lost its edge Summary: 2 StarsThis show use to be laugh out loud every episode. The downward spiral has begun.
