DVD Review: Kinda preachy but still pretty good

This is the first disc in the "Faith Lessons" series that I have purchased. My daughter is nuts about archaeology and I had hoped that we could use these in our homeschool for a Bible/archaeology unit. Unfortunately, after watching it, I can see that it's not going to work for that purpose. The material is definitely PG-13, as there is a lot of discussion about sex and fertility cults.
The format of each lesson is a sermon in front of a small audience of about 15 people situated in front of a particular archaeological site. The host preaches a little 20 minute mini-sermon in front of the audience. By way of a personal preference, I found the host's tone rather annoyingly preachy at times. He's kind of a "loud-talker." Over time, I think that would really bother me. And I definitely would not use this in a setting where there were non-Christians.
I do think I would use this for a home Bible study or small group. Overall, the content is good and biblically sound. It just doesn't suit the purpose for which I purchased it.
