Following hot on the black patent leather shoes of the first "Eloise" movie, ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME (2003) reunites us with the Plaza Hotel's lively junior resident, her "rawther" marvelous Nanny, and their friends.

It's almost Christmas, and Eloise (Sofia Vassilieva) is postively overrun with errands that she must complete before the big day. First on the list is to perform a little counter-matchmaking for Peabody's daughter Rachel (Sara Topham) who has returned from Europe with a most unsuitable fianc?. Then there's cranky, unloved Mrs Thornton (Corinne Conley) who is being forced to leave the Plaza because of financial reverses. Christmas cheer is on the way...Eloise-style!

ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME is the perfect continuation of Disney's "Eloise at the Plaza", again starring Julie Andrews as Nanny with the bulk of the main characters from the first installment also back for more fun (Gavin Creel as Bill, Jeffrey Tambor as Mr Salomone, Debra Monk as Maggie, Christine Baranski as Prunella Stickler, and Kenneth Welsh as Sir Wilkes). It's a real shame they never extended the series by also adapting the "Paris" and "Moscow" books.

DVD Review: My Favorite Christmas Movie!

I may be 40 some odd years old, but I feel like a child again every time I watch this movie! The young actress that plays Eloise is extraordinary and Julie Andrews is wonderful as always. This movie is an excellent family film. I've been searching for other Eloise movies with the same cast and found one other, Eloise At The Plaza, and asked for it for Christmas, but sadly, that is the only other Eloise movie. I hope the young actress playing Eloise decides to do other movies because, again, she is phenomenal!

It's tinsel and holly and "fa la la lolly" when Eloise lends her unique brand of holiday spirit to this made-for-television movie inspired by Kay Thompson's book of the same name. Sofia Vassilieva shines as ruckus-raising Eloise, who can simultaneously exasperate and exhilarate the genteel staff of New York's Plaza hotel. In the days before Christmas, Eloise learns that Rachel (Sara Topham), the daughter of Plaza owner Mr. Peabody (Victor A. Young), is returning after a long absence to marry mystery man Brooks Oliver (Rick Roberts). Eloise insists on helping with the Yuletide nuptials while plotting a matchmaking scheme of her own--to find true love for her best pal Bill (Gavin Creel), a free-spirited hotel waiter. Meanwhile, Eloise keeps busy sprinkling holiday mirth on everyone, including her beloved Nanny, played "rawther" marvelously by Julie Andrews.
