DVD Review: One of their last best concerts
Summary: 4 Stars
The personnel on this DVD during this time period is THE last chance to what remnants of classic EWF there is. This EWF personnel set is respectable. Yeah by this time Maurice is ill but Verdine, Ralph, Phillip are still there. Sheldon, and Sonny are there and I consider them "true" EWF alumni. Added to this is David Romero and Morris Pleasure (EWF members passing thru- but who have added to the experience). Fred Ravel (passing thru but a good artist in his own right) isn't bad. I do miss Andrew Woolfolk on Sax though. EWF has always been about the core and then added players through different eras. Roland Bautista, Dick White, Johnny Graham and Larry Dunn (among others come to mind). No it's not 1975 or 1981 (or even 1990 Tokyo). But this is one of their last best concerts in my opinion. Enjoy it as such.
