DVD Reviews of Dragon Ball Z: Season Six (Cell Games Saga)

DVD Review: Season 6 Review (NO SPOILER!!!!)
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great season!

Here are some nonspoiler thing that will go on in this season!

Is he now a good guy?
Wow, what power!
Get out the way!
No....don't go!!!!
Hurry, destroy him!!
Go Trunks!!
Can Goku really beat him!?

Haha, that's all I can say to make you hyper, unless you want spoilers....However, some of DB/Z/GT believe in Evolution (like the myth of humans evolving from monkeys) that is my only disagreement since evolution is not true! God made everything according to its kind.

-The thing I love the MOST about DB/Z/GT is that it is like a Christian show!!
Goku is the one who always leads everyone the correct way, He is the savior of the world! (Symbolic to God leading us the right way & being our Savior!)

Goku trains & helps his friends to become good fighters (Symbolic to God "training" us in His Word)

Goku trusts in his friends knowing they will do the right thing. (Symbolic to God trusting that His true followers will obey Him & go His way)

Goku always shows love & mercy even to his enemies & evil people. (Symbolic to God showing all us people, whom have broken His Perfect Law -The Ten Commandments- and yet He still gives us Mercy to flee from sin & follow Him)

Goku believes anyone can change their life from bad, to good. (Symbolic to fleeing from our sins & following the Will of God)

Goku was like a father, always protecting people from evil (Symbolic to how God protects us from evil & when the storms comes, He's still with us)

Everytime it seems hopeless & like evil will prevail & there is no way out, Goku is always there to help! (Symbolic to no matter how strong the temptation or urge is, God always provides a way out for us because He is with us)

When the Saiyans or other fighters feel like there is no hope, they go into a new level of strength (Symbolic to when you are weakest you are strongest)

Like with us when we feel we can't resist the temptation or do the Will of God, we still press on and reach a new level or strength.....haha, like a Spiritual Super Saiyan, being much stronger into & with God then we were before.

When the fighters are fighting & they feel there is no hope, someone else usually comes to the aid (Symbolic to God will never leave us & He always provides help)

DBZ is not only a great show but I look at it through a Christian sense, look at it as a Christian sense, it's symbolic, it'll make it 10x better! I know it did for me!

DVD Review: Cell Games Saga
Summary: 5 Stars

Season six help me understand Gohan's powers a bit better. i think after watching it three times one can't miss all these little things that i had missed before.
i think it's one of the best yet, filled with so much action. A definate collectors items.

DVD Review: need I say more
Summary: 5 Stars

I think putting these episodes into one season at an affordable price was unbeatable. Being that it,s Dragon Ball Z makes it a no brainer. If your a fan than I bet you, just like me, were paying 10 dollars for three episodes. On VHS! These boxed SEASON cd,s are... need I say more?

DVD Review: Japnese BGM Only no japanese artists
Summary: 4 Stars

Funimation should not say original Japanese Audio. A couple of Songs were supposed to be sung By Hironobu Kageyama and all they did was leave the BGM Empty. If They couldn't get the copyrights to the Original songs Why didn't they put on their DVD Sets Original Japanese artists songs were not added. This was A real disappointment When Cell Crushed android 16s Head and Gohan powered up this scene seemed really strange with song at all. Maybe Funimation were too Cheap to give royalties to these artists Unlike ADV. I know Saint Seiya wasn't complete but the episodes contained the original artists in stereo. I would watch this part in japanese since the song is still there.

DVD Review: Dragon Ball Fans Get This!
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a great purchase for my sister-in-law. She's a big Dragon ball Z fan. The price was reasonable.

Description of Dragon Ball Z: Season Six (Cell Games Saga)

Having at last achieved his Perfect Form, the evil Cell's powers have soared to terrible new heights, overshadowing even the greatest of the Z-Fighters. Eager to demonstrate these newfound abilities and prove his superiority, Cell proposes a tournament. He issues an ultimatum to the people of Earth-produce a worthy opponent or die!

The day of reckoning upon them, Goku and the Z-Fighters line up to participate in Cell's twisted game, the world's best hope of defeating the monster. But they are not the only ones brave enough to accept the challenge-the reigning World Martial Arts Champion, Mr. Satan, has also stepped into the ring! Now, with the fate of the human race hanging in the balance, one of these valiant fighters must come forward to defeat the seemingly invincible Perfect Cell-but who will it be?

Dragon Ball Season Six contains the entire Cell Games Saga - episodes 166-194.

Stills from Dragon Ball Z: Season Six (Click for larger image)

At the end of season five of Dragon Ball Z, artificial android Cell achieved his perfect form and challenged the Z Fighters to a martial arts tournament to determine the fate of the Earth. Now the tournament begins, but it proves to be a very uneven adventure. The contest begins slowly: The first 11 episodes are just set-up and filler, with little action. The battles between Cell and the Z Fighters offer plenty of excitement, as the brawlers blast each other through rocky cliffs and fling bursts of energy into space. Goku correctly predicts that Gohan will crush Cell. But the story falls into repetitions; Cell has to be killed three times before he'll stay dead. When Cell announces the tournament on TV, Mr. Satan, a WWF-type, appears as Earth's champion. Although he's a coward and a phony, the TV crew fawns over him--a lame gag that goes on far too long. The filmmakers also change the rules in mid-story. Cell had to absorb Androids Nos. 17 and 18 to achieve his perfect form. After a series of body blows from Gohan, he vomits up No. 18 (intact); later, he regenerates himself into an even more perfect form without the Androids. Goku is killed and decides to remain in the Next World with King Kai, rather than risk attracting more evil creatures to Earth. But when Trunks returns to the future, he destroys Cell before he can travel to the past and achieve his perfect form. which means the Cell that killed Goku never existed. Season six could have easily fit on four discs--the last two discs contain just three episodes apiece, and the only extras are textless songs and some trailers.(Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon
