Composer Gaetano Donizetti knew used the formula of romance to the fullest. Never innovated, it was always the current rules of his time. His triumph is in the beautiful melodies, the music that pleases the ears. In working with the voice can express great ability in soils, sets and choirs. Walk safely through serious opera and shows skill with the comic. Lucia di Lammermoor, La Favorita, Don Pasquale, Lucrezia Borgia, Roberto Devereux are some of the successes of the composer.
Luciano Pavarotti is at home in L'Elisir D'Amore. The role of Nemorino is ideal for your voice. Build your character with what is best, his treble. Brilliant, powerful and alive. Overflowing emotions to each note. His large body is not adapting to personagem.Não proves to be the naive and passionate young man tells how the plot. O compositor Gaetano Donizetti soube utilizar-se da formula do romantismo de maneira plena. Nunca inovou, seguia sempre as regras vigentes de seu tempo. Seu triunfo está nas belas melodias, na música que agrada aos ouvidos. No trabalhar com a voz consegue expressar grande habilidade em solos, conjuntos e coros. Caminha com segurança pela ópera séria e mostra habilidade com o cômico. Lucia di Lammermoor, La Favorita, Don Pasquale, Lucrezia Borgia e Roberto Devereux são alguns dos sucessos do compositor.
Luciano Pavarotti está à vontade no L'Elisir D'Amore. O papel de Nemorino é ideal para sua voz. Constrói seu personagem com o que tem de melhor, seus agudos. Brilhantes, potentes e vivos. Transbordam emoções a cada nota. Seu corpanzil não se adapta ao personagem.Não demonstra ser o rapaz ingênuo e apaixonado como manda o enredo. Mas, seu entusiasmo, misturado a algumas boas expressões fazem dele um bom Nemorino. Comove o público na ária Una Furtiva lagrima pelo jeito italiano de cantar e uma entrega total a música. Em diversas cenas consegue arrancar risos da platéia e de nós espectadores, para quem tem fama mundial de ser péssimo ator isso é grande elogio.
Agradável surpresa nesse vídeo é Kathleen Battle. Sua Adina é toda sensualidade. Cativa o público com seu jeito travesso. Pobre do Nemorino, é "desprezado" sutilmente. Sua voz é de um lirismo puro, um pouco escura e com algumas dificuldades nas passagens ligeiras. Seu timbre é agradável aos ouvidos. Destaca-se pela bela atuação, correta e compatível com a personagem.
Donizetti insere um personagem remanescente da ópera bufa, Il Dottore Dulcamara. Baixo bufo é um personagem cômico, ora atrapalhado, ora metido a espertalhão. Esse tipo de cantor tornou-se raridade nos dias atuais, Enzo Dara incorpora na medida certa essas características. Engraçado, irreverente, manipulador e esperto. Voz com graves brilhantes e ágeis, sua ária de entrada, Udite,Udite , Ristici é interpretada com maestria. Usa e abusa, com muita conversa fiada, da ingenuidade do Nemorino e se sai bem. Na ópera e na interpretação.
O sargento Belcore é interpretado por Juan Pons. Mais um cantor com tipo físico inadequado para o papel. Seu corpanzil lembra o sargento Garcia do seriado Zorro, enorme para um militar na ativa. Sua voz de barítono tem grande colorido nas notas médias, bom volume e projeção. Sua atuação cênica é mediana, faz um sargento bonachão, engraçado e alegre que está sempre disposto a atender os desejos de sua amada Adina.
A regência de James Levine é precisa e com tempos corretos, com todos os naipes em equilíbrio. Para uma ópera onde predomina o cômico isso é essencial. O coro do Met nunca foi um primor quando comparado a outros teatros líricos. Nesse L'elisir consegue boa atuação vocal. Acompanha as peripécias dos solistas mantendo o ritmo e o bom humor.
Os cenários usam uma idéia já vencida em teatro, sobem e descem apoiados por cordas. Concebidos de acordo com o libreto, simples e práticos. Dão a dinâmica necessária a uma ópera cômica. Os figurinos são leves, bonitos e adequados. Representam os camponeses com roupas um pouco luxuosas demais para essa classe social. No demais cumprem sua função de transportar os cantores para a Itália do século XIX.
Destaque para a correta direção televisiva, as câmeras captam os momentos essências da récita, com bons ângulos e tomadas. A qualidade da imagem é boa quando se sabe que se trata de uma gravação analógica que foi transportada para o digital. O som segue a mesma regra. Os recursos apresentados nesse disco são pobres, não conseguimos selecionar cenas pelo menu, somente atos. Não existe nenhuma entrevista ou documentário. Temos uma pequena seleção de fotos do L'Elisir D'Amore no Met onde se mostra vários interpretes do passado, entre eles a brasileira Bidu Sayão.
A gravação desse dvd é do ano de 1992, é impressionante como as produção do Met não ficam datadas. Produzidas para serem apresentadas por 25 anos em média conseguem permanecer atuais por longos anos. Esse L'elisir D'amore pode ser apresentado em qualquer teatro do mundo nos dias atuais que fará enorme sucesso.
