Muy buena versi?n de Sylvia, una rareza dentro del mundo del Ballet, fantastico Roberto Bolle poco conocido en Argentina. Tengo una version del Pax de Deux por Patrick Bissell y Martine Van Hamel, es una lastima que esta pareja no haya grabado la obra completa, el era maravilloso para este tipo de papeles fue impecable en su tecnica. Hist?rias de bal? nos levam ao mundo fant?stico, onde desfilam deuses, reis, magos, piratas, escravos, pr?ncipes, cisnes e tudo que a imagina??o pode criar. Bal? nos transporta, nos faz sentir emo??es que nem quando crian?as sent?amos.
Mundos estranhos aparecem, seres ex?ticos se materializam. Em cada apresenta??o, esquecemos a realidade e nos apegamos ? ingenuidade dos personagens. Torcemos por eles, nos irritamos quando s?o enganados, queremos o melhor dos mundos. A m?sica do bal? ajuda nessa viagem de sonhos: geralmente doce, simples, direta e muito emotiva. Torna a dan?a especial e ora nos faz chorar, ora nos alegra com suas melodias sabor mel. Quem tem a imagina??o f?rtil, guarda dentro de si uma alma de crian?a, e gosta de sonhar acordado, ama essa arte. Bal? ? para sonhar.
O bal? Sylvia ? para sonhar. Nele desfilam faunos e ninfas, seres irreais que se materializam no palco do Covent Garden-Londres. Dan?am com gra?a, at? que aparece o pastor Amintas, fazendo-os se esconder. Este, interpretado pelo bonit?o Roberto Bolle, vence as dificuldades t?cnicas desse bal? com a eleg?ncia da dan?a cl?ssica. Pipoca na entrada, seus p?s tremem, mas no desenrolar da fun??o vai ganhando for?a e confian?a. Mostra que ? um dos grandes bailarinos da atualidade. Darcey Bussell faz uma Sylvia atl?tica, forte e apaixonada. ?s vezes charmosa, outras tantas severa. Passos expressivos, movimentos cadenciados e uma sintonia total com Roberto Bolle. O pax de deux do final do terceiro ato expressa o amor dos pombinhos. De alto grau de dificuldade e grande beleza est?tica, representa o auge do enredo.
Alguns v?o dizer que o papel foi recriado por Frederick Ashton em 1952, especialmente para Margot Fonteyn - e ela era excepcional como Sylvia. Infelizmente, eu nunca tive o prazer de v?-la. Mas essa remontagem de 2005, que segue a vers?o de 1952, ?, para mim, a melhor do mundo, pois ? a ?nica que conhe?o.
A orquestra toca com brilho, seus metais s?o her?icos, suas cordas rom?nticas, uma reg?ncia com tempos r?pidos, um colorido e nuances adequados ? m?sica composta por Delibes. Os cen?rios est?o ? altura desse grande espet?culo: terrenos no primeiro e segundo ato, celestiais no terceiro. Luxuosos, de cores fortes, ?s vezes brilhantes. Os figurinos facilitam a movimenta??o. Delimitam a condi??o de cada personagem com leveza e cores contrastantes - claras ?s ninfas e escuras aos sequestradores.
Imagem e som impec?veis, a dire??o de televis?o capta as cenas com transpar?ncia.Todos esses fatores fazem desse DVD um trabalho inesquec?vel. S? n?o entendo o porqu? desse bal? n?o ter se firmado nas grandes companhias mundiais. Possui todas as caracter?sticas dos grandes bal?s e ainda nos faz sonhar.

DVD Review: Entertaining but not passionate

Posted reviews praising this production are mostly accurate, however there is an element missing that can add enormously to Sylvia and make it a moving experience for the viewer. That element is the chemistry between the main characters of the story. It is possible to convey passion & drama in this ballet in addition to presenting a handsome production. I would cite the work of Gonzalo Garcia & Yuan Yuan Tan in the Mark Morris production for San Francisco Ballet. I saw the same production danced by an alternate cast & the experience was much the same as the Royal Ballet video: well done but romantically unconvincing. It is difficult to be completely satisfied, for example, by a Giselle that does not move you. So it is with Sylvia. DVD Review: Really Worth Owning

How great to see this ballet restored after all these years. I truly enjoyed it and am glad Bussell was recorded performing it. Of the Royal Ballet dancers it's hard to imagine anyone else in the part (well except Margot but I meant current dancers).
This one was a great surprise and lots of fun
