DVD Reviews of Death Becomes HerDVD Review: great movie, different Summary: 5 StarsThis movie was really good. Wish things like that could really happen. everyone could be a brand-new person. worth watching and buying
DVD Review: Great film... lousy DVD! Summary: 3 StarsWhere is an anamorphic release for this film? Surround Sound? Hey, how about a Blu-ray release? This movie deserves far better treatment than this 4X3 Full Frame release. A family member of mine owns this and I love the film, but I won't buy it for myself until it gets the treatment it deserves. This is a classic Robert Zemeckis film! It deserves far better than what it got with this release.
DVD Review: An Abyss of A Dark Comedy Summary: 4 StarsIf you want to see a flick that is ostentatious, that is daring and innovative, that is uproariously funny yet deeply dark, and that has special effects that literally make your skin crawl, then you must see DEATH BECOMES HER. Director Robert Zemeckis pulls all the rabbits out of his hat to craft a visual experience the viewer will never forget--and all with a sharp, biting verve.
Ah, immortality. And beauty. Ageless glamour and elegance. Who wouldn't want such a gift, no matter what the price? Two rivals, an aging movie star (Meryl Streep) and self-help guru (Goldie Hawn), willingly pay the ultimate price for eternal beauty in their never-ending tug-of-war over a shallow mortician (Bruce Willis, who is really fun to watch in this quirky role). It's a struggle that crosses over to lethal force; trouble is, neither woman can be killed--but she can darn sure be disfigured. Is that neck hopelessly broken? Get out the mortician paint.
It's impossible for Streep to turn in a mediocre performance, and she's at the top of her game here. Hawn and Willis are outstanding, too, while Isabella Rossellini, who plays the witch who sells Streep and Hawn their "magic potion", is absolutely stunning. Look for a cameo by the late great director Sydney Pollack as an ER physician about to receive the injury case of his career. With eye-popping special effects and a tongue-in-cheek spoof of vainglorious megalomania, DEATH BECOMES HER is grand (and often icky) fun.

DVD arrived in a very timely fashion.
DVD arrived in excellent condition.
DVD Review: God for this time Summary: 5 StarsThis movie is funny and very entertaining. It has betrayal and vengince. I would recommend this movie to anyone to buy. Goldie Hawn and Merryl Streep are great together and Bruce Willis is just an added bonus. I could watch it over and over again.
Description of Death Becomes HerIsabella rossellini is a beautiful enchantress who changes their lives and deaths forever in this hilarious dark comedy with ground breaking special effects. Studio: Uni Dist Corp. (mca) Release Date: 02/27/2007 Starring: Meryl Streep Bruce Willis Run time: 103 minutes Rating: Pg13 Director: Robert Zemeckis This 1992 black comedy by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Back to the Future trilogy) features some of the most eye-popping special effects of the '90s in its story of a narcissistic star (Meryl Streep) who steals the husband (Bruce Willis) of another woman (Goldie Hawn) and continues her rivalry with her even after death. A magic potion keeps both women going despite the punishment of murderous bullets and fatal plunges, and the joke is that even as they rot they remain vain about appearances. Though he's fashioned a one-note movie, Zemeckis gets a lot of mileage out of such impressive sights as Hawn walking around with a hole in her chest the size of a basketball, and Streep--her head and arms twisted 180 degrees--moving like a broken crab. It's weird, it's sick, it's hilarious, and the stars push the whole project to a classy entertainment. Isabella Rossellini is great as a scantily clad witch who sells the immortality brew. The DVD release has a full-screen presentation, optional French and Spanish soundtracks, optional Spanish subtitles, and Dolby sound. --Tom Keogh
