DVD Reviews of Dead ClownsDVD Review: Zombie Clowns - Comedy = Dead Clowns Summary: 1 StarsI should certainly know what I'm getting into ahead of time when it comes to these low-budget or no-budget direct to DVD horror flicks. Yet when this one ended I smacked myself in the head anyway, feeling quite the fool for having wasted about an hour and a half of my night.
I thought this would at least be funny, purposefully or not it had to be funny considering the theme. It's not. It's not even meant to be funny, it's just a (really) bad zombie movie with the zombies being 50-year-dead clowns risen from their watery grave. It's devoid of humor, either intentional or unintentional. Yes, it's a 'serious' zombie clown movie...
Minor spoilers follow -- A real oddity of note: eventually every cast member is cornered by a zombie (ahem, clown) and I can't remember any of them actually screaming in fear; yelling at the clown to back the f- off; or even looking very concerned at all as they are about to meet their fate. The acting seems extra bad here, and I guess most of the cast are not actually actors. Anyway this lack of screaming as a lady would suddenly come face to face with the undead was puzzling at best. (Normally I agree that amateur films are best suited with less dialogue as lower budget actors speaking too many lines can cripple an indy movie like nothing else -- but an occasional scream would have been welcome...)
Also, the clown on the cover art looks nothing like anything in this film. I don't know if that was a pre-production idea of what they might look like, or if it was done by somebody who couldn't be bothered to actually watch the movie. If the latter is the case, I think I envy that man.
DVD Review: What a sh**y circus Summary: 1 StarsWith review number Dan Q on the Octoberfest horror season we decided to go with a little of the clown horror variety. Now let us explain that never have we been the type to jump on the bandwagon when it comes to liking or disliking a film. We couldn't care less about what someones opinion is, but just about everyone was spot on here. This one's easily on par with world's top horrific films like Rise Of The Scarecrows and Halloween Night. No matter how b or how low the budget is Sid can find the enjoyment in almost anything, except a piece of trash like this. In all the disasters we've watched this one sits in the top 5 and will make an appearance on the "He's Gone the Evil's Gone from Here" list.
Dead Clowns (aka Man that looks like a dead bear) takes place on a home video camera somewhere in Florida. A hurricane is coming into the area and dominates the first half hour making you wonder if you watching a b version of the weather channel. All you get is landscape shots of the storm along with some mindlessly boring dialogue. You're literally seconds away from throwing in the towel when something actually happens. For some reason the storm resurrects a bunch of dead clowns from the sea who died in a bridge collapse. That's it folks, that's your movie. Now please thank Sid for saving you the hour and a half you could have spent doing absolutely anything besides watching this. So obviously we think this one blows and would have no matter what age we were in the past. When you return this one give it the right treatment and scream "he's gone, the evil's gone from here!"
DVD Review: anything is better to waste your money on then this. Summary: 1 Starsno actors, directors, screen writters, make-up artests, or professionals were used in the making of this crap. none were asked for advice either. now that that's been taken care of,,, if someone with a tiny bit of tallent had gotten hold of the story it could have been okay, maybe good. there is one scene that is funny. i believe in not telling people what happens in good parts of a movie. because i care about you not wasting your hard earned money i'm going to tell you. the poorly made-up clowns have have come back to life. [because a hurrican surge has uncovered the train car that they died in during another hurrican] they are killing the towns, modern day, residents because their soul's feelings are hurt. the town didn't want to spend to dredge them up or erect a memorial. this rotten guy finds out and and puts up a card board sign appologizing dure the eye of the hurracane. all's good, until the rain washes away the non-permanent maker. then back to crappy effects.
DVD Review: Finally... I ahve seen the worst horror movie ever Summary: 1 StarsThis DVD is just plain awful. The setting is horrible. The storm scenes are terrible. The dialogue is non-existant and the actors deliver them with little emotion. The special effects are sooooooo bad. Anything on TV would have been time better spent.
I have seen much better productions from local community theatre groups. This one is definitely in my worst 3 horror movies of all time.
DVD Review: So so so misleading Summary: 1 StarsIm really not into giving movies bad reviews, for everybody has their own vantage point. Although i will say dead clowns is very misleading. Dont get me wrong, i love indy films. I had been trying to get my hands on a copy of dead clowns because the cover is emaculate. Anything that looks that good on the cover, has to be good right? WRONG. WTF i dont understand i dont think i even saw a fkn clown untill halfway through the movie. No dialouge, very little plot, which my thirteen year old sister could have imagined. I actually bought this copy from amazon. I should have listened to the other reveiewers, when i read this was unbearable. Being stubborned like i am, i just had to find out for myself. I wont tell anyone else not to see this movie, because like i said before everybody has a diffrent vantage point. Ill just tell you to proceed with caution.
Description of Dead ClownsAs a hurricane approaches the small coastal town of Port Emmett, an innocent group of residents are visited by an unspeakable horror. Fifty years ago a bridge collapsed in the small town, plunging a circus train into the dark water below. The clown car was never recovered. Tonight the zombie clowns emerge from the bay to exact revenge on the descendants of those who left them buried under the silt and mud for half a century.
