DVD Review: Great Memories...
Summary: 5 Stars
Now, I had watched racing since 1995 and had followed the Black #3 straight out. This race in itself was a great memory as I was definately tuned in the day he won, but what we really need to see is some good ole Bristol Nightrace in 1995 AND 1999 (any #3 fan I'm sure will recall those, great memories!), Rockingham 1996, and some Talladega (basically ANY race there). Earnhardt driving that #3 was the best advertising GM Goodwrench ever could have had as it was on the camera a LOT, even when he had a bad race. This 1998 500 was actually not as action packed as many I remember (talladega is always a better race), but the ending results and the image of that Black #3 on the track are worth all 5 stars!
For the person who made the foolish comment about him 'cheating', well wake up! NASCAR Racing is a Redneck Sport, it started that way, it will always be that way, 'moving people' out of the way to win races is what it was all about. You win any way you can, and you fight, block, bump, rub, anything to keep em behind you. Sorry they can't all be 'Mr Clean' never touch or bump anything because they're too afraid to get into it on the track (ya wonder why some races are just bland...nothing happens to draw the camera's attention anymore). And as I recall, incase that lister is a Jeff Gordon fan, Gordon's team was involved in more 'Illegal Parts and Tech Failures' than the #3 was ever accused of. There is nothing wrong with 'finding the limits' of NASCAR's rulebook. I commend Harvick's crewchief for being creative afterall at Vegas 05 with the Fuel Cell. Just inconvenient that they got caught!
And yes drafting is a Talent that noone else (not even his son) has Mastered like he did...and perhaps never will.
